Hello - i've recently had a few days where my stomach HURTS and I feel so puffed out like I'm going to POP! It even hurts my kidney area in my back. Anyone else get this? Feels like I ate too much and that my belly is full of air or something. ANYONE? This is very uncomfortable and nothing has changed the condition in the past 24hrs that i've had this.
I'm a digestive care educator, perhaps I can help? Have you seen a doctor, is this a common occurance and does it follow the consumption of certain foods? You described this as 'air'. Do you commonly experience gas and bloating?
Occasional gas and bloating is normal, and can be caused by bacterial or yeast fermentation, impaired digestion, swallowing air, and even drinking carbonated beverages. Occasional bloating can be helped by taking digestive aides such as enzymes, herbs such as ginger or peppermint and or Hcl. If it is a common occurance you should speak with a practitioner to rule out a functional disorder such as IBS or other bowel disease.
Keep in mind that gas and bloating while common, can also be the result of other issues. Personally, I have IBS and I know what it's like to go through abdominal pain.
I hope you are able to get to the bottom of your problem.

This is only about the 3rd time I've had this in maybe a month. Today has really been bad (been burping a lot hoping that would help) but the pain especially in lower back/kidney area is very painful (no fever so I don't think its an infection). I am up to 2000mg of met (take 2 at lunch and 2 with dinner) and 150mg of meridia (which I skipped this weekend after friday's bout of nausea and stomach pain). I'm drinking a lot of water hoping that will help.
I'd definately call your doctor and ask about your symptoms. If it turns out it is just impaired digestion, you can ask him/her about the use of dietary aides. A few years ago I was diagnosed with low stomach acids. They have a new medical test for this.
Kidney problems are not something to mess around with. I'd give a ring to your doctor and let them know. Better to be safe than sorry...

I had some of these symptoms and it really hurt - I felt like a blimp and every now and again it would feel as if someone was stabbing me in the stomach so I finally talked myself in to going to the doctor ( i was afraid that they would be like - "Lady you have gas, go home") but when i got there they put me in the hospital ran some tests and said that i had diverticulitis and that it had caused a preforation in my colon causing free air in my abdominal cavity- PAIN is all i can say. I thought for years that i had IBS but turns out that i dont. I hope that you get better because i know how painful digestive problems can be
I have recently had these pains. However, whenever I went to my GYN, I found that I had a urinary tract infection. UTI will give you lower abdominal pain and back pain. This infection can spread to your kidneys if not treated by antibiotics. Hope this helps.
