Default stomach weight?HELP!!

What can I do to lose this stomach flab?
I have that spare tire and lower stomach weight.
I am 33 and have just quit Paxil which put this weight on my stomach.
I was losing weight fine before going back on Paxil and I lost it doing a low carb diet and walking. Now i am having a harder time. I am doing low carb, been off Paxil since 9/21/06, walking on a treadmill about 3-4miles a week(time permitting) and I don't eat sugar!! I am taking 500mg of metformin, which i don't think does a blooming thing! Does anyone know the best exercise for stomach fat and has anyone had little results with Metformin?
I think I need to see an endocrinologist? My gyn. says I have PCOS and said that the metformin should help. It isn't.

I think that you should ask for a higher dose of met. All my research I have done said that the best dose for those with PCOS is 1500-2250 mg. depending on the individual. 500 mg is usually just a starter dose that helps prevent having the dreaded side effects that it can cause.

I am taking 500mg but my doctor never told me to take more than 1000mg. I am trying to remember to take one 500 in the morning and one 500 at night. I always remember the night one but i forget the daytime one. I still only take 1000mg. I don't know anyone but me on that low of a dose.

I just had my dose raised from 1000mg to 1700mg. I had to ask my family doctor to raise my dose. I have only been on the larger dose for 2 weeks and I know for sure i have lost weight. It made a huge difference. Now i just hope that it helps me O!!!

I am on 2000 mg a day of met. I have to take 1000 mg in the morning and 1000 mg at night because of the tummy reaction. I have not had any problems since being put on the extended release form. As far as the weight loss Met has not done a thing for me; my endo said it would help with at least 20 lbs of weight loss... nothing. I have the same problem with the belly fat. I DO NOT recommend this, but my sister took adipex to lose weight, and she lost 60 lbs along with diet in exercise in a matter of months. I repeat I DO NOT recommend the usage of any unatural diet pill. Been there done that and I now have to deal with the memory of the horrible side effects.

I also had been on adipex (before met) and while it did help me lose weight. I WOULD NOT recommend taking this medication with Met. I did it for a day and passed out because I did not eat the whole day (adipex makes you completely not want to eat) and this along with the met dropped my blood sugar. It also makes me feel like i have drank 6 gallons of coffee- i was so jittery i couldnt stand it!!!

So what do you think we should do? I am not sure that would help me either to do 1700mg. I know about adipex, my sisternlaw took it and i have been looking at some form of it. I just don't know what to do,

Well I have a friend who took met for 6 months at 1000mg then upped it to 1700 mg and was pregnant in three months. But if you are not TTC then I would try the adipex but only of your Dr. prescribes it because while you can find it on line, it can mess with your heart and blood pressure. I had no problems with it until i took met with it. I used to only take one every other day because it worked that well for me. I dont want to make it seem like i think that taking diet pills is a good thing or that I promote them but sometimes under Dr. supervision they can really help. You should know that while it supresses your appetite and gives loads of energy, it will make everything you eat taste like dirt and you'll think your dying of dehydration.

I used Green Tea capsules to help combat my belly fat. It definately made a difference.

Default hi

Does adipex really help, i have really good willpower. I don't really have an appetite suppressant problem. I just have horrible metabolism. I can go without eating all day. I even tried that once and it didn't work, body needs fuel(food) to run.
How do the green tea capsules help??
I drink green tea, and it is in the multivitamin(one a day weight smart) i take every day. I never noticed it doing any good really. I am thinking of increasing my met. I just don't know if that is good to do.

I KNOW how you feel about batteling your belly fat!! After I went off BC over a year ago my PCOS symptoms flared and I gained over 60 lbs. I have been seeing a nutritionilist and she warned me against the diet pills that suppress your appitite and told me to shoot for 6 small meals a day. I guess something about not eating makes your body go into a "starvation mode" and hold onto your fat because it's not sure when it will get food next. I've been trying to do this and have lost 16 lbs so far. And like you taking 1000 met a day didnt really do anything for my weight loss....it took me starting to diet and excersise before I started to loose.

some deit pills that make u loose weight make u loose muscle!! lol please dont do them unless given by dr and are closely monitered!! i would suggest try drinking green tea! that helps some ppl as do the pills!! that level of metfromin os only really a beggineer dose to make ur body used to it! so i think u should be up to 1000mgs by now everyday!! also drinking loads f water will help u feel full NATURALLY!!

also if u up ur dose of metformin take a good multi nutrients with vit B's and calcium!! it helps!! trust me xxx

Default green tea

I bought some green tea capsules last night. It is the Meta-T ultra weight loss formula. I took one this morning. I am also drinking green tea. Thanks. I wonder though how long and how well it works.
I am going to stick to my low carb diet and walking. I wonder if I were to go to 1500 mg of metformin, it would help. I am calling my doc today. I am also taking a B50 complete and weight smart w/green tea one a day vitamin.

Thank you so much.
