Unhappy Stop O'ing on Met? Help!

I started Met on January 27th of this year ( 2003). I use ClearPlan's Ovulation Predictor. It showed I O'd for the first time February 14th & 15th (CD18 & CD19). Then right on cue, 14 days later I had AF. Well, it is now CD19 and it has not showed I O'd. Has anyone else had Met make you ovulate and then stop working? I am seriously depressed about this. Anyone with help or something... please let me know!

Default Hang in there!

Hey there, cyster,
We're all in this together... some days are much better than others. Most of the ladies here say that it takes six months or more to see real results from metformin, but that they are worth the wait. I got two regular cycles after starting metformin last October, then I stalled. You know how I felt when I didn't see any signs of a period starting, took the test, and didn't see the sign I was looking for there. We all feel like that. It's frustrating, and I'm really glad that we have each other to talk to. I'm sure that if you hang in there and try to get healthy, something will happen soon.
Best wishes,
Sheri

Thank You so much for posting back to me. Yeah I was kind of worried only becasue it stalled. I didn't expect it to work as quick as it did and then when it stopped I kinda freaked and got real upset... you know how that is apparently. I am up to day 22 and still only 2 bars. Should I go back to the doctor and talk to them about it? or is there nothing they can do? I appreciate your help!

Tara

Default I think waiting a bit longer would be good

Dear Tara,
Reading through lots of other posts, especially those in the trying-to-conceive area, has told me to be patient and give the meds time to work. Exercise and eating well should also help, and trying to relax (impossible as it seems). I think waiting two full months since the last cycle would be a good time to call the nurses at the doctor's office and see if you need an appointment. My doctor never hesitated when she expressed confidence that I could have a family. If we need to try some clomid, we'll try that after several months more of just metformin. I just wish I was getting younger instead of older. (I'm 33)
Another concern of mine is miscarriage soon after conception. Sometimes this happens because we don't produce enough progesterone.
We will make it through this!
Sheri

It took 3 months for me to O on met, and after that it was sometimes regular with O, sometimes not. After 10 months on met, and I O'ed 5 times in that 10 months, we added 50mg Clomid and I O'ed and got pregnant the first Clomid cycle.
