Default Stop taking chromium gtf after starting met??

Hi everyone!

I went for a 2nd opinion today with a different RE as my current one won't RX glucophage unless you truly test + for IR (and I haven't). I have read so much and want to give it a try, espcially because I'm clomid-resistant so far at 50 mg and 100 mg. I'm a thin cyster, so losing weight really isn't an option as far as trying to O/get afs on my own.

This doctor I got the 2nd opinion with RX'd me the met once I explained I know it isn't a cure-all for everyone but that I've read the studies saying it can help lean women who aren't technically IR and want to try it. So I recently took my first dose of 500 mg...I'll be progressing to 1000 mg/day and eventually to 1500 mg/day if I can tolerate it.

Up until now I've been trying low carbing and taking 400 mg chromium gtf. I suppose I should stop the chromium now? Any help would be much appreciated!

thanks!

beth

i was taking gtf chromium, but i stopped it before i started gluc xr. you should not take them together, since the combo can drop your blood sugar too low. good luck on met.

Thanks peppermint tea! That was what I assumed but I wanted to be sure. So far so good-no s/e from the Gluc! I can't believe it. Maybe a little tiny bit nauseus/dizzy but only a wee little bit. I'll take it! Thanks again for your help and your good wishes: )

I've been mixing the 2 for months and I've been fine. I think that the more you help your I.R. the better. Just my opinion.

I won't be mixing the two. If my RE prescribes Met, I will stop taking my chromium. However, I am taking it right now, before I have bloodwork. If that comes back normal, I will continue taking it, because I will know that it is working.

Question

Is chromium gtf the same as chromium picolinate? If not what is the difference? I've never heard of chromium gtf.

Thanks!
