What do you do to stay on your path to God? How do you stay foccused ? Have you ever lost you way?

Pray, pray, and pray some more...sometimes via song. I read ALOT of religious works...Nothing like a good book to keep you focused...lol.

Being a Catholic, sometimes, fragments of the Mass come floating through my head...most esp the Agnus Dei (for those who don't know it--Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us{2xs}, then Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us...or the Kyrie (It's Greek, but in English, it is "Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy)....Nothing like hearing those words in your head...over and over again. It does make ruts in your mind, it helps to focus...to remind....well, at least it works for me...lol.I'll be honest. The more extraneous "stuff" I get rid of in my life (and I don't just mean material possessions--the mental clutter is also a biggie), the more clearly I see...and yet, I see that there is so much I do NOT see....which makes me want to see more...

If that makes any sense at all.

HTH

Lots of prayer along with Bible reading. It also helps to be in church and to fellowship with other believers.

I have to remind myself often that believing in God requires sacrifice... especially in this world! And I think it is very true that the more you do to practice your faith the closer you stay to it, & the less you do the more you let it slip away. It is a tough journey but it is supposed to be... that is the sacrifice.

I was lost till I found the Way, Jesus Christ. In regards to relationship, I am secure. In regards to fellowship, I fail Him, but He is always there for me. Prayer, Bible reading, trials and fellowship with others following the Way are necessary to grow in Faith once you are Saved.

John 10:1
"I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

2 Corinthians 4:2
Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

Matthew 21:32
Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
