Default strange curly hairs since hair loss?

my hair loss has increased exponentially in the past 3 or 4 months. no clue why. but something strange i'm noticing are these random curly strands of hair on the top of my head. the rest of my hair is pin straight. are these hairs likely to be things that have always been there (and i'm barely noticing because i'm running my hands through my hair a lot more often), or is this something to do with hair loss? they're strands of hair that are almost wirey and kinky.

i've had those wiry little hairs ever since i was a kid .. . and they never get as long as the rest of your hair so they're kinda wierd . . . i'd like to know what they are myself but i don't think they're related to any medical problem.
