Default Strange response to Provera! Then early Clomid

Ok I find my story to be very strange, I took Provera once, had a normal AF after that. Then no ovulation. So I took Provera a second time, and had spotting for 14 days after the last Provera pill. I thought my AF was the spotting, so took the Clomid at days 5-9. Then, at the end of the 14 day spotting run, my temps dropped and I had a real period. I asked my GP about this, he had no idea really. So we tried again, and upped the Clomid to 100 from 50. Same thing! Spotting for 14 days after Provera, took Clomid early, then had a drop in bbt and a real period.
So essentially, it would appear that I am taking the Clomid too early in the cycle, but has anyone else experienced this strange spotting issue? And what is your take on exactly 14 days after the last Provera dose? I'm almost wondering if I'm o'ing on my own somewhere underneath it all.
Thanks kindly for any feedback...Maria

Have you seen an RE? I have never heard of this, very strange. You might want an RE to do progesterone tests on multiple days of your cycle to see if you O at all. If you aren't O'ing, then maybe wait for the full bleed to start Clomid...meaning don't start on CD5 of the spotting, wait and start on CD 3 or 5 of the full bleed.

GL and HTL a bit. Sounds like you definitely need an RE, not a GP

Thanks for your comment, I think you are right, that was my inclination the first time it happened but the GP responded that perhaps I ovulated and the spotting was due to a cyst rupturing (what???). I'm an RN and even I know my physiology enough, that's not really a logical answer.
I am now seeing a great RE at a wonderful clinic, who had ultrasound on site and is very informative.
Honestly...I think I might be ovulating on my own somewhere in there. I've really changed my lifestyle a lot, I've lost 5 lbs even though I'm not overweight, I'm hoping it will be enough to tip the scales in favour of balancing things out, but who knows!
How is your experience?

Glad you found a good doctor!

My experience is pretty good so fart...I almost never get periods, and if I do they are months and months apart. So I took provera to induce a bleed and it works every time. I am on my 2nd round of Clomid. The first round I O'd and then my period came on it's own. I am now on my second round, O'd again, and will test this weekend...wish me luck!
