Just wondering if stress does affect your periods. I tell you forewhy.
I started on metformin 6 months ago and have been getting my af every 5 weeks but last month i havent had one. I have started a new job away from my home town 2 months ago and was lodging with a friend. She has been threatening me etc and even put my bags outside at 9.30 pm which left me to find somewhere to go. The job is not perfect and have been stressed.
I am now 1 month on from when i should have had my af. I had all the pains etc and its continuing. It feels like the pain i had constantly before i started metformin.

I am right there with you. I haven't had a real period since December but I am getting all of the PMS, cramps, backaches... And believe me, my mood is horrible.
I was doing fine on the Metformin and Sprironalactone. Now I am on the Glumetza and Synthroid and I am eating like crazy and cranky as all get out. It's like I am reverting back to before I took anything and I hate it. I just want to be happy and feel semi-normal.
This is ridiculous. I have so much stress going on now and I just don't need all of the high's and low's from the med's.
There is someone out here feeling the same way.
I hope you feel better soon!!!

I am a 46 (almost 47) year young woman. Here are my thoughts: My parents divorced when I was just entering puberty. My period did not start until much later (18 years old). I had had some previous bleeding but very irregular. Later in college, I would not have a period until I went home for spring break or Christmas. I would complain that the minute I would relax, "bam" my period would start. This also happened if I went to the beach for a few days, etc. So as one could imagine, I hated that! I know that I have kept myself in a stressed position for many years with school and work and that my periods were irregular. When I began slowing down and not letting my career determine who I was, my periods starting becoming more and more regular. Once I discovered spiritually who I was I was totally regular. Now I am waiting to see if I'm pregnant with IVF #2. I had 32 eggs/22 fertilized. On IVF #1, I became pregnant but had to terminate due to a lethal spontaneous mutation found within my baby's skeletal system. It was a very rare occurance and we have been reassured it is not likely to happen again. I have closed tubes (which is another story) plus we have male factor therefore good ole IVF!! So you see, cysters, you must force yourself to relax... Don't let anxiety get to you. Breathe deeply every day and take lots of walks in nature. Let animals (or husbands) entertain you with their very funny ways. My blood pressure is very low these days too.
I had a super stressful job and my AFs stopped completely. I went to the doc and he (though he missed the obvious PCOS) said it was stress. Things were back on track after a while.
