I have had acne since I was about 11 years old and from mid-teens until early this year I was on Dianette. I found that my acne was definitely a lot better on it, but I had a lot of other problems from taking it so I decided to come off it and try other remedies. Since I have come off it, my acne has gotten really bad. I try not to think about it too much as it depresses me quite badly, but sometimes I just can't help but notice how awful it is and I feel sad that at 25, I still look like I did when I was a teenager. I guess if it was my only problem then I wouldn't feel so down about it, but on top of the other symptoms I suffer from, it just seems to be the straw that broke the camel's back.
I seem to have entered a new realm of acne really... I have always had blackheads, but now they have extended into areas of my skin where I previously did not have them. On top of this I have developed some spots that are very hard, red and painful on areas like my chin/jawline and neck, where I have previously not had a problem. My chest, back, neck and scalp (!) are now also problem areas, which I find very embarassing. I cannot wear some of my clothes because they are v-neck or a lower back and show my shoulder area or neck/chest. I have very fair skin and the pinky/red spots just look so bad... even from a distance. I am not one to wear makeup, but it's very tempting to just slap a load on to make going out in public bearable. I have used various fashwashes, spot creams, direct on the spot treatments... they all seem to help a little, but nothing majorly amazing.
Sorry to moan, but it just struck me today how badly I feel about it...

I don't think we have it in the UK. Am gonna do a search. My DBF goes back to the US end of November, so I am hoping that I can persuade him to buy and send me it hahaha... I mean honestly, what a weird request to your loved one... but he knows how much they drive me crazy... "they" being the acne.

I've used the acene free from Wal-mart. Its ok. I think its better than any store bought product. The one thing I noticed that practive did that the acene free didnt do is tone my skin. My acene cleared up, but around my jaw and chin gets red, I had a nice smooth olive tone with proactive, not close with acene free....but it helped great with the acene.
