In my 4+years of knowing I had pcos and researching ways to deal with it, Gymnema sylvestre is the only herb I recognize...it helps with blood sugar levels is all I know about it...

does anyone else know what the other 9 ingredients do?

is hyponidd an alternative metformin? I have a script for met, but I was afraid to use it and even though I have a full 500mg per tab bottle here, I have 2 at walgreens and 1 at walmart but that was a year ago and if you don't refill do they question ya when you finally slink back and ask for a refill? ya know....

Ive looked all of the ingredients up individually before purchasing hyponidd and they all come as hypoglycemics (blood sugar lowering) and cholestral lowering drugs. It says for each of them...will lower blood sugar so do not use with blood sugar lowering medications. Im guessing thats how met helps pcos?

hi Pearl!! I also looked up ingredients for Hyponidd, I came up with a few Indian herbs I wasnt familiar with and also some I was familiar with. Goosberry, Tumeric, Bitter Melon, Neem, gymnema sylvestre.

Also Dr Kamat said that Hyponidd was ok for pregnancy and breastfeeding, but I need to research this furthur. Because Tumeric and Neem should not be used during pregnancy at least not the total mg of Tumeric that is in Hyponidd.. and there are a few other herbs that ?? about for pregnancy. What do you think???

Also I was having so much problems with bacterial vaginosis before starting hyponidd. ALso I was having the Egg white Cervical fluid almost constantly sometimes.... I noticed after starting hyponidd and other herbs and probiotics that my va**inal fluid kinda "dried up" compared to what it used to be. I looked up the herbs and there was at least 3+ ingredients in hyponidd that could have helped my va**a problem!! What an excellent side benefit.

In the last several days (less than a week) that I have been on hyponidd, I have been VERY FAIthful with ONLY TAKING HYPONIDD 30 min+ before meals on an empty and Hungry stomach. I wonder if its making a difference because I have had almost no cravings AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

I was really interested in this thread so did some googling.

I found some other studies which suggested that there was no/virtually no difference after taking Hyponnid than the controls.

Are you noticing any difference in weight loss at all?

Maddy--I have lost 7 lbs this week. Seriously! Like I said in my previous post, I have been VERY FAITHFUL in taking the hyponidd like it says....(30 min before meals with water) and I almost always am very hungry, when I take the hyponidd because that is one of my diet rules (must be hungry for meals) I think it is taking my cravings away, or something. I am also taking cinnamon and milk thistle, with 2 meals/day The hyponidd studies for the PCOS DID SHOW WEIGHT LOSS!!! There may be some other studies for hyponidd, but I am going on the PCOS ones!

The studies for hyponidd that showed no difference to controls were the ones on Diabetics resistant to oral therapy. Basically metformin resistant diabetics.

The studies on PCOS patients showed very very promising results comparable to that of metformin and showed more weightloss than the metformin group. I know these studies are genuine as the results were published in the gynocology summit in france and also the "new medications" summit for diabetics.

I sure did my research before ingesting this stuff.

I also looked at the individual herbs and they were successful in studies to lower blood sugar levels in patients.

I am concerned on the tumeric in pregnancy thing. Tumeric is a spice eaten in a lot of indian cooking and I guess they would eat nearly the same amount as in the hyponidd. My bf is of pakistani origin and they eat tumeric all the time. I want to read about this further because it IS important. I have a history of miscarriage and would prefer to keep on the hyponidd rather than metformin during pregnancy. I want to ask a herbalist if i can find one

Herbs having egg white mucus all month is quite detrimental to your health as it lets in bacteria very easily, and studies have shown that women most often contract influenza and other viruses around their fertile time as all fluid in mucus membraines (our first line defences) are thinned to allow penetration.

So far on hyponidd my spots have gone, tiredness is a lot better as Im not letting myself go hungry, and estrogen dominance (tender breasts/nausea/egg white mucus all the time) has gone. Still waiting to regulate my cycles. My skin is a lot less oily too.

Pearl- Yes I would love to know if you find out anything about hyponidd and pregnancy. If the people in India eat alot of tumeric, then what about the pregnant women in India. Hmmm...defenitly needs some research. I think I will do some more.

Good, your tiredness is better!

Saspeabody32-- My hyponidd pills arrived around 10 days from the day I ordered them. I ordered mine from India, and I live in Wisconsin. Also I counted Saturdays and SUndays in the 10 days. Did you order from India Abundance? I actually talked to one of the poeple from there on the phone. I called him at around 11:30 am or before in the morning and he asked me what time it was here. I asked him what time it was in India. He said..9:30 in the evening ...wow! It felt wierd talking to someone halfway across the world on my cell phone!

I take 2 hyponidd pills twice a day. But there is a secret to taking these so they work the best. TAKE THEM 30 MINUTES before meals. I take them on an empty stomach too, but you wouldnt have to, as long as you take them 30 minutes before meals. I took them with meals and didnt notice tons of difference, until I started the 30 min before meals thing real faithful. I hardly have any cravings now and my wieght is really coming off!!!

Right Herbs I will take them 30 mins before meals. I have not been doing so. I have noticed some positive changes but no ovulation as yet. I have no sugar cravings at all anymore. I turned down icecream last night!!

My father is taking the hyponidd for his diabetes so we have a lab rat! I will report his blood sugar level changes!

I dont want to comment on your blog until I have finished 1 month of hyponidd and then I can really put a unbiased review on there

Hello newbies and welcome!

The research on this herb was done over a 3 month period. It takes around 3-4 months to start showing improvement in PCOS cycles. You may notice some more minor improvements before then, such as improvement in acne and some weight loss.

Good luck everyone

Herbsgirl, yes I did order my pills from India! I totally know about the time difference, lol, my fiance is in Japan and they are 15 hours ahead of us! So at 6am here in Texas, it is 9pm there in Japan. What really messes me up is to get the time difference down only to go to Daylight savings times or to go visit him and have to count backwards. LoL Anyhow, I guess I will call them if I haven't recieved my pills by the time I get back from vacation. I think I ordered 4 packs...so I will have to figure out how long that will last me in order to keep a good amount on hand. I can't wait for the pounds to start coming off!

Thanks for posting this information, I will look into it for my research. Does hyponidd just have those two ingredients? Gymnema has always been a very useful herb for blood sugar/insulin problems.
There is also a similar product we have in Australia that contains acacia and hops and is very effective in lowering insulin & triglyceride levels.
Will be interested to hear how the hyponidd goes for everyone

Sue Ann- I usually have to order 6 packs at a time to last 30 days, taking 2 tablets twice a day. It took me around 10 days to get the hyponidd last time, but you can do a Track and Confirm on the postal service, then I know whats going on with it.

Pearl-- Is the acrabase or whatever the GYmnema Slyvestre in the hyponidd, becasue I read that it blocks the absorbtion of sugar. I defenitly do not feel addicted to sugar anymore! Its wonderful!

AussieJul--I think thereis around 10 different herbs in Hyponidd, a good portion of them I recognized..Tumeric, Gynenma,Goosberry, Neem, ect. I just typed in the word (even though It was hard to say) into Yahoo/google search bar and looked it up and seen what it was good for. Also there is minerals in there too. According to the studies, there were 2 main important herbs and Gynemna was one of them. Did you read the link to the study on hyponidd?
