Hi Ohiomom! I'm the same as you. I get very nervous about taking supplements from other countries. And I was always leery about ayurevic medicine. I'm still nervous. I guess you research it as much as you can and go with that. There's lots of info about heavy metal poisoning on the net. I just keep those symptoms in mind whenever I take something. I actually had an old acupuncturist who gave me counterfeit chinese formulas. I found out from the mfg. She didn't even know it was counterfeit. That counterfeit brand was found to have lead in it. I was racing to the bathroom barely making it, which is what was the red flag for me. I only buy one brand in regard to chinese formulas. That's how much of a nervous nelly I am. GL!
Mandala - You're welcome!
Ms Peaches: When I dissolved the Hyponidd in warm water it was pretty much broken down in 20 mins. That should be sufficient. I'd try to drink warm water with it, if you're in a time crunch. I wouldn't take an extra one though. I honestly don't think most of us need the max. dosage anyway - at least after a while.
Gina: Not sure. I always got AF even when anovulatory. I think Pearl said 2 mos? She added cinnamon too.

My AF was only a few weeks after the hyponidd, BUT I've been dieting and such for about 6weeks. and it's this weird trickley-spotty thing.. I tried a couple things to get it motivated we'll see how it goes.
Keep us posted ladies

Kricket, great to hear your update...congrats on AF and starting a new cycle from day 1!
Just an update...still no normal AF (what is happening in there!?!). however, I did have a day where I experienced some light spotting, but it only lasted a day which could be ovulation or a weird AF...who knows.
however (not that you necessarily want to know this) my CF seems to be drying up, which hopefully means that i am not estrogen dominant anymore, which hopefully means my ovaries are doing something different...
I have stopped taking hypponidd because I started testing my glucose levels, and they seem to be within a normal range (who knows if they were before I started taking hypponidd). Id love you to get your thoughts...when i test in the morning, my fasting levels are consistently around 86, 30 min after meals only around 95/100. 2 hrs after meals my levels were around 84. I wish I had taken my glucose levels before the hypponidd (which i took for about 2 weeks) to have something to compare.
Good luck to all...this is such a facinating journey, where each person has to find her own bodies' needs/patterns...thanks for your contributions to this thread.
I'm just wondering you may be experiencing what I was. Hypoglycemic in your sleep which causes your body to dump more glucose & you end up with a high fasting. Going back on hyponidd may help or may keep your fasting levels up. Your levels are much like I am/was experiencing. If your levels are in the 70s or even 80s before bed, that may be the case.
Unfortunately, getting the blood sugar to normal levels doesn't necessarily fix the insulin levels. There are women with PCO without problems with bg, but with insulin resistance. And hypoglycemia is still insulin resistance. That is if any hypoglycemia on or after taking hyponidd is true hypoglycemia. It's so complicated, and I'm still trying to figure it out myself. By day 3 this week on hyponidd I had to go off again. My levels were still low normal in the morning, but I can tell by nighttime symptoms I was still getting hypo. So again, I have to adjust to maybe every other day...once a week...who the heck knows.
The only tangible proof I have that it improved things is that my cycles are perfect, and the hirtuism for the most part is still gone. I had to cancel my endoc appt. because of an emergency dental appt., so now I have to wait another 2 mos. to get in for bloodwork. The weight is far from falling off, but I do see improvements in clothes fitting better.
Kriket: Sorry your still not getting AF too. Hope whatever you're trying works for you.
Keep us updated!

I wouldn't get too discouraged about one high glucose reading, Yesterday I was at 104 for no reason whatsoever, then this morning it was a perfectly healthy 95. I was sure that it was going to be higher because I forgot my hyponidd before dinner (DH was being salty)

Hi Ladies, checking back in! I got my AF! Yea! It's been a little heavier than normal, but I'm sure it's b/c I skipped last month. The new nuva ring went in last night even though AF is still going on (have to put it in one week after taking it out regardless), but it didn't shut it off, so I was glad about that, looks like it'll run its course regardless.
I really need to get motivated to exercise again . . . I know it'll help me in EVERY area . . . . just haven't been.
Glad you guys are doing okay overall, with some hiccups here and there for all of us, huh?
Well, take care, and I'll keep you posted as well. Still doing the same things-- 1 Hyponidd 2x a day, cinnamon tea once a day, trying to go walking when I can, but been a slug the past couple weeks!!
*Hugs*

Hi, Ladies!
I just registered, but have been reading the posts for some time. I ordered the Hyponidd from Madanapalas, and received the foil/30 pills in a plastic container with no instruction sheet or other papers attached. I dont know if Madanapalas shipps the orders this way..but it feels unsafe to me... If somebody else ordered from them and has the same story, please let me know.
I appreciate your help,
looking forward to hear from you

Hi Jo,
That's normal. Each sheet comes with a sleeve, so if the sleeve remained on, it would increase the bulkness of the package, and you'd pay more in shipping. There are instructions on the madanapalas website, as well as charak website. On the back of the package it says take as directed by dr - and the sleeve probably says the same thing. I think in India, ayurevic formulas are treated as medicine. If you feel uncomfortable, you can always email charak pharma & verify with them: http://www.charak.com/
The normal dose is 2 pills 2x day 1/2 hr. before meals on an empty stomach.
HTH

I found some really interesting info for those of you with hypoglycemia problems. Actually it relates to l-carnitine deficiency and all blood sugar problems, diabetes, IR and PCOS. I took acetyl-l-carnitine & L carnitine last night and my blood sugar was ok in the morning (94) and I didn't feel like I was hit by a truck. I don't want to go OT on this thread so I'll post it on another thread.

Well I just ordered 6 packages (20 tablet package) of the hyponidd, worth a try. I could never force myself to faithfully take metformin, the side effects were awful so I'm hoping this supplement will be much better.

Trajo: If you don't mind me asking, are your quads from injectibles? Or does the universe just really love you?
Jo: mine came like that too, It was a little strange, the backs just said "follow prescription" But I looked up all the ingredients and went ahead with it. I think that when this supply is exhausted I will go without and see what my sugar does on diet and exercise alone!

Just an update on me : Still off all herbs but feeling very rough today
Nausea, shakes, sweats and rapid heart beat. My blood sugar swings are becoming unbarable :O
I tried to eat two eggs with two brown toasts this morning but it didnt help for long. Im going into bed in a bit.
I have found that not sleeping enough does this to me also, as well as not eating protein.
Ill be back on soon. Just 6-8 weeks till I can take my herbs again and boy I do need them...
Hoping everyone is well and still cheering you on over here xxx

Pearl, so sorry to hear that. I'm sure 8 weeks can't come fast enough. L-carnitine is actually working for me to keep my blood sugar up & very stable (by lowering insulin levels). I'm taking acetyl-l-carnitine. I don't know if that's okay to take in pgy (it's an amino acid). Interesting though that you mentioned not eating enough protein because carnitine's biggest source is protein, specifically red meat (which I had cut out most of). So you could also try chomping down some steaks - if you can tolerate red meat!
