I went to my new endo this past Friday. I didn't like him at all. He says all my problems were my birth control and I need to lose weight. Well, I stopped my birth control two months ago b/c I had been on it so long, and I am already on a diet. I have lost 11 pounds in two months. He says that everything my old endo said were not true. According to him I do not have metabolic syndrome. He did not do any bloodwork, he is basing this on my tests from 6 months ago. My old endo explained the test results so well and it made sense. I just don't agree with this new doctor. He didn't run any tests for PCOS or anything. I am hopefully going to get my surgery scheduled this week to remove the endometriosis. Why are some doctors so great and make us feel we finally know what is going on, and then others just debunk all that and tell you there is nothing wrong with you? I beg to differ! I know that something is going on with my body besides the endometriosis. Ugh! Well, things will get better one day. I am not dealing with the endometriosis well emotionally. There are pain pills to numb the pain, but there is nothing to help me deal with the possibility that I may not be able to have kids. Can't talk about it right now.
If you don't LOVE your doctor, switch immediately. There's no point dealing with someone who strikes you as so clueless.
Take it from someone who has seen just about EVERY endo and OB-GYN in the DC area - it's not worth wasting another day.
Can you go back to your old endo? Or can you ask them for a referral? Barring that, I'd just try another one in your area. You're bound to find the right one eventually!

Change doctors, absolutely! He sounds like a jerk to me; I'm continually picking my jaw off the floor when I keep reading about these doctors who won't listen.
Leah, I'd love to recommend my doctors, although that would be a long drive for you down to Atlanta! (If you're still living in GA.) I went to see Dr.Kaplan and Nurse Suzy at GA Repro Specialists. I think they are more up-to-date as to what happens to our bodies when we have PCOS.
Here's a big *HUG* - best of luck!

Hi Kat! It would actually be a drive up for me, I am in Columbus. It wouldn't be too far, not if they are good doctors. Do they specialize in just reproduction, or all of the female disorders? I have so many hormonal probs right now its pathetic. Thanks for the tip!
