Smile stupid question but new to this

Hi, I have had pcos for a while and have not taken any meds for it, but my self confidence is getting so low because of all of the symptoms associated with it, I need to try something. I would like to try natural remedies but I don't know where to start. What kind of a dr. should you go to?(I don't even know if you go to the dr. or just buy it at health food stores) if you do go to a dr. does insurance cover it like regular md's. Any help or advice would be of great help! Thanks so much

I went to see a herbal doctor. She worked with a crystal, yes i know a bit weird, but she ended up with a prescription of a whole lot of herbs, i went to the local pharmacy and they put all the herebs into a tonic that i had to take 5 drops 3 times a day. Its not a cure, and you still need to go to the Gynae for check ups and scans.. It worked for me so far. Hope this helps

Just remember, herbal takes much longer, so have patience. My herbal treatments works the first 2 months, but the last 2 there was no improvement, so I am not to sure how good this kind of treatment is. I have actually made an appointment today to go see a normal Gynae because i just got a feeling that I should go back to the medical approach. But good luck, if it works for you, GREAT!!!! Just remember 2 important words, Have Faith.

Ashlea.....congrats on taking a healthy way of dealing w/pcos!!

I would just like to add that a healthy diet of whole grains, vegies, lots of protein, little to no sugar, lots of fiber, no white flour, + 30min of exercise (cardio and strength) 4-5 days or more a week really helped all my symptoms.

Good luck!! and have fun!!!

PS....Flax is very good for us that have PCOS. You can buy ground flax at most grocery stores. Do a search on here...you'll find lots of info on Flax!!
