That is wonderful news, congratulations! This is actually my first post in the community, but I've been reading around for a few weeks since I was just diagnosed--such positivity warrants a comment

Thank you for sharing, I'd love to keep hearing about your stories and experiences!

Congrats! I'm doing Follistim now and have a few questions for you... How many days did you do injections, how many follicles did you have when you triggered (and how big), and what was your E2 level? Thanks!

Hi, sorry for the delayed reply!

Update: I'm in my second trimester now and managed to have NO morning sickness! YAY! Dr. Luke's book is pretty helpful and my Dr is mellow (which is good because I'm generally pretty rigid). My uterus is definitely 6-8 weeks bigger than a singleton...I look quite pregnant at almost 15 weeks! My only regret is doing all those ultrasounds (week 5, 6, 7, 8, & 10) in the beginning. After doing some research I just pray that they didn't do any damage. I'm only doing absolutely necessary ones from now on (regardless of my early bleeding, those weekly u/s seem excessive...though at the time they were reassuring). SIGH!!

Okay, now to answer some questions...

Acupuncture (Mara, sorry I don't have too much to add here)...When I was first diagnosed with PCOS my husband and I were skeptical about metformin and all the immediate drugs that go with the doctor side of things, so before I started anything I went to an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility. After a 2 hr consult I started going regularly ($$$) but alas, she could not get me to ovulate on my own. I tried a bunch of herbs, too, and eventually was impatient and decided to go with a hybrid approach using the metformin and clomid and acupuncture (which she agreed with). She was much more informative than my doc (kind of mother-like) and that was great. However, clomid just didn't do it either, so we moved on. I wish I had more of a success story of just acupuncture working, but alas...! In any case I find acupuncture to be SO relaxing and her office to be SO caring that I definitely do not have any regrets about using it.

And for the numbers (wmoody this is for you)! Got my "period" which has decided to be nothing more than about 10 days or so of spotting and this is just confusing. My "day 2" u/s showed that my lining didn't look like it was breaking down, but HcG came back <1 (not preg) and E2 194 (they wanted it <50). I was like, "great, I failed my blood work!" Still dribbly. Went back about a week later for a second go at my E2, and I squeaked by at 48. I started the Gonal F (which is about the same as folistem, just slightly more confusing to use, but I got it for free) and I alternated 75/37.5 for 11 days (they were slow growers - original play was 7 days). Did the Hcg thing at home (2 follies 19 and 20) and then an IUI 2 days later...for 6 days (between day 3 and day 8 post iui) I had light spotting...then nothing (days 6 and 7 each had slightly more than the others...). When I POAS 12 d post iui and it was positive I was convinced there were two babies (after reviewing my notes of spotting). I love being right! hehe

GOOD LUCK ALL!!!!! THINK POSITIVELY!
