Default Success Story Update

I've posted here awhile back about success taking what may be called "mega-folic acid" therapy.

In Dr. Atkin's book on Vitanutrients, he talked about this therapy helping to postpone menopause and regulate female cycles, so I tried it for that, and noticed a significant decrease in facial hair that I'd had since puberty. (I had pretty much a full beard, as I found out when I grew it all out for the laser therapy, which worked fine but only lasted a year or so and cost a bunch).

I'm still doing this therapy 9 months later -- but after researching that folic acid metabolises very quickly, I've started taking it six times a day (up from 3) and noticed an even greater improvement -- close to a cure. I used to spend close to an hour every day plucking, and now I spend about 5 minutes.

My doctor approved my taking large amounts of folic acid, so long as I also take decent amounts of B12. She says that folic acid is essential in metabolizing estrogens, which would explain why it works. Some other research I've done indicates that some people lack an enzyme that's essential in processing folic acid and so need more of the stuff.

I don't know if this would work for anybody else, but it's certainly worked very well for me. The complete set of what I take is in my signature line.

If you're interested, do a search on this site for folic acid -- here and in the Alternative Remedies forum -- I've posted lots of stuff about it.

It's worth noting that spiro causes birth defects, and folic acid prevents them, if you're comparing cures.

Hi, thanks for sharing

What brand of Folic Acid do you use? This seems like it's really expensive. Also, is there ever a time when you won't have to take so much?

Hi Auntlee,

do you know if this also helps with hair loss? I don't have problems with hirsutism, but I'm losing scary amounts of hair.

Cheers,
Beata
