Unhappy sugar ok, but symptoms? opinions needed

I had my sugar checked today b/c I have been getting dizzy, lightheaded, thirsty all the time, going to the bathroom alot, but my sugar was normal. I am going to have it checked in the morning after I have fasted. The nurse asked me if I could be pg but I tested last week and it was negative. Should I check again, or does it sound like my sugar is messing up? I am on 2000mg of Metformin so that could be affecting my sugar levels. Any suggestions or opinions appreciated.

I don't have any advice...but I wanted you to know you're not being ignored. This part of the board doesn't seem to get much traffic. It's been a couple days since your post...how ya doin'?

Have you had a glucose tolerance test (GTT) w/ insulin levels? If you are insulin resistant you can still have a normal blood sugar, but be experiencing the symptoms you mentioned. Basically what happens is your body has to produce more insulin than normal to keep your blood sugar normal. All the insulin can hit you about 1-2 hours after eating and bottom out your blood sugar. This makes you eat again so the cycle repeats.
The next time you see your doctor ask for a 2 or 3 hour GTT w/ insulin levels. This is safe even if you are preganant.
