I recently started going to the health clinic at the University here. The doctor referred me to a seminar that's run by the university Counselling Services. (Psychology interns run the program)
The program is about a month and a half long, meets once a week, and teaches you how to cope with depression. The group doesn't deal with medications, and therapy...it deals with what actions you can take to help yourself (regardless of how small those actions seem!)The one that I am attending is not limited to students of the university, and there is definetly a fair age range.
So..my suggestion, if you want to work on getting out of depression, is to see if the university near you has any sort of depression programs that you can participate in.
Just a thought, anyways.
