My Mood: Points: 80,155.62 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 80,155.62 | Suggestions for Birth Control??? Yaz isn't working. Thanks for your suggestions and experience. My OB put me on Yaz after the birth of my daughter. I don't have any major complaints. I'm not pregnant, so it's obviously working as birth control. My skin is clear. I'm not getting any weird boils or other odd PCOS symptoms. This is the problem......
I KEEP SPOTTING!!!!!
If I miss a day or take it at night instead of the morning one day, I start spotting. It continues until the next pack. That just isn't practical and really messes with the whole bedroom thing. I don't mind bcp's, but I don't recall having this problem when I took them 6 years ago.
I'm open to suggestions for bcp or other forms of bc such as depo or IUD. I'd rather avoid options that will cause me to gain 20lbs, thank you.

My Mood: Points: 2,973.54 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,973.54 | Try Apri, the generic form of Desogen! It's a low dose pill and I love it. It has worked wonders for me. No spotting. No weight gain. My skin cleared up and my HS (boils under my armpits) disappeared. My hair seems to be growing in slower along my face and legs. My periods are light and short and predictable down to the hour, lol.
My only issue was mood swings the first month; however, I hadn't been on any form of hormonal contraceptive for years so I have a sneaky suspicion it was the sudden appearance of hormones in my body that made me something of a psycho for a few weeks. Since you're been on Yaz, you might not have the same issue adjusting.

My Mood: Points: 1,423.34 Bank: 6,628.68 Total Points: 8,052.02 | The Nuva ring or the patch. I loved them both but the patch you change once a week and is less effective if you are too much over your bmi. The Nuvaring you insert and remove after three weeks, and insert a new one after a week and AF. I loved it but now I'm on Yaz I've been on it two months and have noticed I'm getting moody. Not depressed but very irritable. Other than that it's been fine with me but I was moody this whole weekend and it was my birthday. I miss the ring though and may go back to it if the mood issue doesn't disappear.
