Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or used sulfur soap for their acne. My fiance's mom uses it --- for roseacea I think --- she swears by it. She said that her doctors told her to use over the counter acne treatments but they always gave her problems, over dried her skin I guess. She said that it works well for acne too.
I'm thinking about trying it, over the counter treatments don't work very well for me. I'm a little hesitant because I am trying to use all natural/organic products and I don't really know what's in it. The brand she uses is called Grandpa's Thylox (acne treatment soap with sulfur). Has anyone heard of it or used it?

I used to work at a natural grocery store, and I know they sell sulfur soap, so it can't be *that* fake. I haven't tried it myself, but my vegan friend swears by it. It's on my shopping list as soon as I run out of my tea tree face wash! Grandpa's is generally a really good brand.

I use a sulfur cream on my troublesome spots! And it dries them up within the night. When I use it on my entire face, it tightens my face up too! But, if you're going to use it as an overall wash, I would suggest using a decent moisturizer because I've found that sulfur dries out my skin quite a bit when I use it over long periods of time.
Sulfur soap is pretty natural. So I wouldn't be too hesitant about throwing off your organic vibe!

I am using Grandpa's Thylox soap right now. It does not dry out my skin. However, my results have been mixed. It does a great job of cleaning the stink out of my armpits but I noticed that my acne there has gotten worse. On my face, I noticed that the acne was not bad until it was TOM and then I had a few eruptions and had to go back to Proactiv.
I recommend that you give it a try and see what it does. I try to leave it on my face and armpits for a few minutes while I wash up so it has time to work.
I am interested in hearing how it works for you.
Hi, I use MSM as an exfoliant and it really helps to dry up the spots. I think sometimes it dries it up too much so you might want to also use a oil-control moisturizer.
