Default Sunscreen for Rosacea ? Any suggestions ?

I have Rosacea...I was at the cottage today and outside all day and now my face is red as a beet and my head is throbbing...I did have a hat on for a bit but I didnt realize I was getting as much sun as I did...

What I need is a daily moisturizer with good sunscreen in it so I will put it on and leave it on and wont have to think about it again...especially while chasing my 3 year old and his needs

Any suggestions ? I cannot keep doing this to my poor face !

THanks,
Amy

Hey, there, dna my rosacea buddy! :p

I don't know if these are available in Canada, but...

Last year I got a tube of Coppertone "Faces". It says it's a hydrating sunblock. It is SPF 30. I like it because it is oil free and does not go on greasy and it doesn't seem to aggravate my rosacea. I wear it around the house and on my bike rides.

If I am going into town or going out, I like to use "City Block Sheer: Oil Free Daily Face Protector" by Clinique. It comes in a tube and is SPF 15. It, too is not too greasy and not too dry...just right and there is a little touch of color in it so I use it as my foundation, too. It helps tone down the red rosacea color with that tint in it. Expensive, but great stuff!

I would like to find out about the Olay moisterizers with sunscreen. Anyone try them?

Hope this gives you some ideas!

Kathryn

Hi Kat !!

I don't know anything about the Olay...I tried the Ombre last year and found it left me awful white looking all the time (which with my red face isnt such a bad thing !) LOL

I am definetly taking this list with me for niteshift on my 3 am Shoppers Drug Mart trip I can see what they have...I love the idea of non-greasy I put on some after sun after yesterday and today my face is just gross

Congrats on your new hobby I need to get me one of those !

Thanks Kat !

    Hi, Deb34

That Neutrogena sounds like a good one, too. I am going to look for that! Now that I am out and about on my bike, I go through lots of sunscreen. I really need it with my fair skin and rosacea.

A good sunblock for areas other than the face is Bullfrog "Quik Gel" SPF 36.
But, I DON'T USE THIS ON MY FACE, because it has sort of "rubbing alcohol" type fumes that irritate my eyes and seem to flare up my rosacea. But, it helps to keep my arms and legs from burning. Goes on really fast and light and lasts a long time.

Default Neutrogena ultra sheer with dri-block

KlassicalKat: i also have roseacea and i find this the least irritating and it doesn't slide and sting the eyes.

i'm lazy so i use this for all parts of my body that are exposed....

    best wishes
