Today I had my first appointment with a new endo in Austin. I am in South Austin and I had to drive up to North Austin but it was totally worth it! Her name is Dr Yousef and she works at Austin Diagnostic Clinic. I told her my story and she did not hesitate to tell me she is almost certain I have PCOS. She was pleasantly surprised that I was so knowledgeable about it but commended me on doing my homework.
Soo next step is I have to do a 24 hr urine collection starting Sunday morning. Then I go in Monday morning to turn in my sample and get my thurough bloodwork. She is testing for a laundry list of hormones, all of which I have read about at some time or another in my investgation of PCOS.
She told me I was a "posterchild for PCOS" . She had me pegged from first glance She specializes in PCOS and thats the main reason I chose her in the first place.
I feel so much better knowing that I am finally in the hands of a doctor that realizes that this disease is real and should be treated seriously and isnt something to brush off!
