Default surgery?

hi cysters -

i am 26 and i've recently been told that what i thought was a skin condition may actually be a symptom of PCOS.

i've got pretty bad acanthosis nigricans and skin tags - but no acne, hirtuism, obesity or hair loss.

i am desperate to get rid of the acanthosis - i've had it for about 16 years now and it's crippled my social life and my self confidence. i've seen dozens of dermatologists and gone through some excrutiating procedures to "fix" my skin, but to no avail. all i want is to have "normal" skin.

my endorcinologist has put me on metformin, and i'm hoping that will help, but i'm wondering if any of you can tell me what options i might have in terms of removing the cysts surgically and what kind of results i might expect from that. has anyone undergone surgery and had success, in terms of eliminating the symptoms?

i know it sounds extreme, but i've struggled with this for so long, i'm just trying to understand what my options are.

would appreciate any advice you can offer. i'm so glad to have found this website. thank you in advance.
