Great thread topic!
I've been misdiagnosed with a ton of things, but I never let it get to me. Since I turned 18, my philosophy has always been simple: if a doctor tries to diagnose me with a malady based exclusively on symptoms I complain about, they're a quack. Sorry, but my logical self can't comprehend diagnosing anything unless there's a clinical evaulation. Bloodwork, imaging tests, etc.- if a doc doesn't order it, I find a new one.
Probably the most laughable thing I was ever supposedly stricken with was Multiple Sclerosis. I went to a naturopath to help offset some of the difficulties I was having with thyroid cancer treatment. She queried me on my symptoms and literally read a checklist she printed off from some website; at the end of the session, she looked up from the page in triumph and said "Yup, you've got MS."
I never went back to her. Oh, and it turns out that the funky symptoms I was experiencing was due to the cancer therapy. Doh!
