Here's the list for me: carpal tunnel, chronic migraines, poor vision, chronic sinusitis, HORRIBLE TEETH, chronic back pain (from an injury in 6th grade), chronic constipation, acid reflux, asthma, reactive arthritis, and now they're planning on doing tests to see if some of my chronic pain could be caused by fibromyalgia. fun, eh?

Points: 276.39 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 276.39 | This is my first post on this site... but this is a great thread... so here I go.
1) PCOS Symptoms are as follows: 20+ cysts on each ovary, amenorrhea, high free testosterone, hair thinning, hair loss, chronic abdominal pain, acne, and almost anything else you can imagine... at my ripe age of 21.
Since I was 16, I've had so many unexplained medical problems... it would take an entire forum to explain them all.
lets make this simple:
1) IBS - constipation, diarrhea, cramping, and sharp pains
2) trouble with my joints - they all pop ... and I'm generally sore on the mornings...
3) Panic/Anxiety - Major problems with this... it's been debilitating at times.
4) Hypoglycemia - Low blood sugar, sometimes with high sugar spikes
5) Random appearing allergies - i.e. the birth control patch, some Band-Aids, and random medications
6) Chronic Headaches - I've had MRI's done.. all have been inconclusive for Pituitary Gland problems.
7) Massive Weight Gain - 40 pounds in one year...
8) decreased libido - self explanatory...
9) Chronic Lower back pain - might be associated with mild Sculiosis
10) Very bad vision
11) Plantar fasciitis
other random unexplained problems...
- I've had two instances of blood in my stool... (possible Endo?)
- Occasional trouble breathing, chest pain...
The only real diagnosis that I have is PCOS and possible Endo assiciated with the bowel... plus IBS...
It's sure been an interesting journey thus far... and seems very odd because I was completely healthy before I turned 16 or so...
any help would be awesome!
Edit: I forgot to add, I've had bouts of chronic yeast infections, as well as ongoing bladder infections. (I actually have one currently) ...

My Mood: Points: 7,636.82 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 7,636.82 | I have hypothyroid, gerd, leg pain, IBS problems,anxiety/panic disorder these are all things doctors have told me are not related to my PCOC. Only one doctor that I saw told me they were ALL related to my PCOS.
Yes,I do have a weight problem. I weight about 100lbs more than I would like, and about 75lbs more than I should. I have been told my several doctors to loose weight and it will help my PCOS. Funny thing to me is that when I only weight 115lbs I already had PCOS and was already not having periods,so how can loosing the weight help. Also no matter what I do I can't seem to loose it. One doctor agreed with me that for women with PCOS it is very hard b/c docs will say loose the weight, but then they forget that is a symptom/problem of PCOS and loosing that weight often doesn't happen. |

Bipolar disorder, anxiety, a knee effusion (trauma related), migraines, allergies, and poor eyesight. I too sound like a hypochondriac!
Run down of meds:
600 mg Lamictal (bipolar)
50 mg Atenolol (migraines)
1 mg Clonazepam (anxiety)
600 mg Magnesium (migraines)
100 mg Imitrex (migraines)
60 mg Orilistat (Alli - my own OTC remedy)
25 mg Pfenegrin (migraines/nausea)
1000 mg (i guess that would be a gram?) Glucophag (PCOS)
and I've been prescribed 800 mg Advil for my knee.
Is it sad that I had to get out my 7 x 4 compartment pill case to remember all that?

My Mood: Points: 136.43 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 136.43 | I am really new at this... Hi everyone. I am new at this. I recently been diagnosed with PCOS this feb of 08. I knew something was wrong from having my second child. I also have IBS and arthritis in my lower spine. I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel in my right wrist. So pretty much I am in pain all the time. I spoke with a few cysters on another site and they said that IBS is another problem with PCOS. Gosh since I have had PCOS my body seems to wear down. I am not taking any other meds yet. I am taking only yasmin for BC and pain meds. Hope this helps. Oh by the way, my name is Ruth. Nice to meet everyone. |
