At one point I had the following:
PCOS
IR
Anxiety/Depression/Panic Attacks
Elevated liver enzymes (fatty liver)
Hirsutism
Acne
TMJ caused by bruxism (teeth grinding)
incompetent cervix
weight loss and exercise have controlled 4 of these, including the cystic ovaries.

Along with the PCOS (hair loss, excess hair, overweight especially around stomach, skin tags, oily skin irregular cycles etc....) I have
Horrible mood swings when i want to throw stuff across the room (and have at times)
Highly emotional
Numbness in hands and feet
High BP
Chronic sinus infections for 2 years now
A shotty immune system
Pain that comes and goes in right leg, ankle, knee and hip
Geez, i sound like my legs are going to fall off @ any second!
I got diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ago. I am on a bit of a medical mission for myself to get multiple problems identified and dealt with, and today I was diagnosed with:
1. IBS
2. Hiatal hernia
3. Gastritis
4. Esophagitis
5. My gastro doc says 90% of women with IBS also have anxiety stress disorder (duh I'm a basket case so this is obvious)
I just wonder how much of the stress and anxiety stuff came about as a result of worn out adrenals from the PCOS. How is it all connected? Me not know.
I've got PCOS (lack of menstral cycle, overweight mostly in the midsection, excess hair, brown patches of skin, etc.) , IBS, a Spastic Colon, Migranes, extream mood swings/moodiness, hypoglycinia (i have no idea how to spell that), activity enduced asthma, chronic bronchitis (go figgure, I'm a smoker, I know, I know. I've heard it all), depression/suicidal tendencies (just depression now, no longer suicidal), joint pain, I think that's it. Wow, and I'm only 23 :*(
Sadly, I have to do an update post to this thread.
I posted a long time ago other problems..
This month I have also been diagnosed with:
1. Rickets due to severe vitamin d deficiency. Why? still a mystery. After complaining of bone pain on and off for 15 yrs finally some answers. Took having over 20 stress fractures in my legs..arrgh
2. Osteoporosis
3. Arthritis
4. Esophagitis - unable to swallow solid foods without meds
5. Iron anemia
6. Chronic gastritis
I was finally DX'd with PCOS in 2007, also DX'd with hyperinsulinemia in 2007. I'm having all kinds of severe pains in joints, muscles and severe fatigue to name a few symptoms anyway..I'm now having to start a series of doctors to find out what type of autoimmune disease I have. My doctor did a blood test of ANA? and it came back as abnormal.

1. Hypoglycemic (was told this by a doctor as a 6yr. old after I had "seizures" at school) As I understood it over the years this meant that my body was making too much insulin. I avoided sugar most of my life because unless I had protein with it or had already eaten, it would always make me really sick. So I've never had much of a sweet tooth thank goodness.
2. Depression (have been on Prozac twice; not on it now)
3. Migraines (usually when my period comes, which isn't super abnormal by the way, just 6-7 weeks apart, and sometimes normal schedule, but I get them eventually. I take Imitrex when I get a migraine. Have been in the ER twice when I couldn't treat them.)
4. Liver hemangioma (supposed to be asymptomatic, but I have pain, see 6,7,8)
5. PCOS (diagnosed a few weeks ago) and a 2cm dermoid (teratoma) on my right ovary
-----symptoms are enlarged ovaries, high testosterone and 17-OH progesterone, inability to conceive despite not using birth control for 3 years, abnormal cycle, hair on chest, a few on face, and hair on inner thighs that is darker than average. Oh, also a few around nipple area. Great. Do not have high blood pressure and cholesterol is not bad.
6. See item 3 above, I went to see a GI doc and was diagnosed with IBS, and
7. Severe gastritis (am taking Protonix now), and
8. Hiatus/hiatal hernia (I guess your stomach pushes up into your chest cavity a little bit due to a gap between where the esophagus passes thru the diaphragm. I suspect a result of a ski injury a few years ago, but WTF? Supposed to see doc next week to discuss treatment plan.)
I also have muscle and joint pain but my mom has some arthritis so I just figured it was that. It hasn't been crippling for me as of yet.
I am married, 34, no kids, but TTC. I am on 1,000 mg of Metformin per day for the PCOS. I weigh 180 and am 5'7", so that puts me in the overweight category (most around my middle, of course) but my weight problem is fairly recent and I don't feel that it is severe. I only need to lose 25-30 pounds to be at a healthy weight. I've always had a lot of muscle on me so I never had to think a lot about it and was a vegetarian for 8 years in my 20s so stayed thin (not bony, mind you) by accident. I think stress, desk job, and lack of exercise led to my PCOS being pronounced, etc..
Hope this helps. Shout at me if you want to compare notes.
Nikilotta7, I've read in a few places about how many women (and men) are Vitamin D deficient because we stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen and our bodies need some light in order to make Vitamin D.
I have been dx with PCOS, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, acid reflux, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides and insulin resistance.

I wish that was the case here. It would be an easy fix. I get enough sun exposure almost daily living in sunny florida just driving commute to and from work. Hell I got sunburned just driving to and from dr appointments today lol. Thanks for the tip though. I'm on 50,000 units of Vitamin D three times a week now.
Also does anyone else have arhythmia, heart palpitations, etc? I can have one while sitting and watching TV being completely relaxed. Very weird.
WOW, Finally...Not that I'm happy that you have them, but i finally have someone to relate. I hve plpitations also. I have been on 2 heart monitors, stress test, and multiple trips to the ER for heartattcks i thoought i was having,,,NOTHING..they came up with nothing. I can be sitting at my desk, or watching tv and for a split second i feel this crazy race in my heart...it scares the hell out of me!!!!! It has prevented me from exercising(which i so need to be doing) but I'm scared. I know theor supposed to be harmless, but i cant take the feeling. YOUR not alone, i wish someone could tell me something other than its anxiety, like how to stop them.
Ok, so talk about other things to be diagnosed with: PCOS, asthma, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Gluten resistance, acid reflux and lots and lots of food allergies.
So, I was able to make most of these things much much better by eating a Gluten free diet (not diagnosed with Celiacs, but I get really sick when I eat specific foods) and organic. My asthma and acid reflux (mind you they go hand in hand) basically went away unless I eat poorly. the funny thing about the PCOS, I am recently married and the beginning of March is the first time I have been off the pill in two years. When I went of the birth control pill two years ago to get retested for PCOS, my cycle was out of control. That I couldn't make the three months--I had to go back on. My period wouldn't go away. But this time, I actually ovulated two cycles in a row at about the same time. We are waiting 6-9 months before trying to get pregnant as my nutritionist (he is very familiar with PCOS and hormones) told us that most women with PCOS will miscarry if they don't wait that time period. My issue is that I must be doing something correct with my eating as my hormones are more incontrol. But then why the heck can't I lose weight. I have not eaten carbs (bread, flour carbs) for a long time. I get my carbs from vegetables. I eat a ton of veggies and lean meat. what the heck?
