Well, besides having all the regular stuff, like being over weight, acne, lots of hair,infertility ect. the list goes on. I have Costocondritus, Fibromyalgia, IBS,Plantar fasheitus Can't spell it, Bulging discs, depression, everything on my body hurts Im 40 and I feel 90. What could the connection be ?????? I have always thought that PCOS was to blame for all my problems. Even so I fight every day to live a normal life and Im so greatful for this wonderful place, and to know Im not alone in my struggle. Thanks All Christabell

I too have had

TMJ problems and it got worse when my symptoms skyrocketed last year -STRANGE?
Alergies
Other than that, I am healthy! The doctors looked at me last year when I was so ill, with food intolerances and weight gain and said hmmmm, we don't know why your sick! After a year on Glucophage I feel NORMAL again.

I too have the teeth grinding which I find really interesting.

So....besides the normal PCOS related issues I have
TMJ, Bruxism
Gallbladder and Digestion issues, bloating etc...if I eat the 'wrong foods', high carb etc.

Before Glucophage XR though I had a slew of symtpoms and my doctors wouldn't listen to me. They said I look so healthy, yeah right!
I would say a testosterone of 101 isn't too healthy.

I am feeling NORMAL again with a combination of two drugs.

Glucophage XR 1500 mgs
Yasmin BCP (I know this isn't an option for many cysters trying to conceive but my testosterone went from 69 to 28 and I feel great!)

Question

I see alot of similarities too! Has anyone spoken to their dr and found that the normally non pcos symptoms may be caused by the pcos? Let me know

Cool

WOW!!!

I'm so glad I logged on!!! I've often wondered the same thing. I haven't been formally dx w PCOS (my appt is this month) but am amazed at how much I have in common with what I've read, so I had to reply. I hope this helps, I have:

IBS
Asthma
Fibromyalgia
Major allergies
Horrible migraines (mostly hormonal) (Imitrex saves me)
arthritis
Photophobia (cannot tolerate light at all!)
Acid Reflux

I KNOW something is wrong. I've had horrible cramps since I first got my pd (age 11). My cycle was always irregular. The gyn put me on BCP which helped the cramps but made the migraines worse. Even tried a BCP called Micronor. I had menopausal symptoms on that. It was supposed to be safe for migraneurs, but they became much worse, so I went off it. Now, my cycle is more "regular" 28 -38 days roughly-- which is more predictable compared to what it was. But, I've had bad cramps these past few years. I'm a wreck a week before my pd up to several days after. Some blood work indicates that I'm close to menopause -- at age 35. No kids yet. Feel as tho it may be too late.

Have had at least one large ovarian cyst.

Every once in a while I too, get a tingling/numbness down my left arm.

Also, I have thyroid symptoms but lab results read in the normal range. My Dr says that results can be "normal" but still have Wilson's Syndrome. Won't treat me for it, says she's had mixed results. Another Dr referred me to a site you may find interesting: www.DrRind.com

I've found some relief from a chiropractor and accupuncturist.

We may sound like hypochondriacs, but I've noticed that if I ignore symptoms, they just get worse, and then it becomes out of control.

... and that's really about it --- or at least, all I can remember, my memory is gone (they say that is part of the menopausal stuff!)

Glad to be here! : )

Lightbulb

Wow, maybe alot of this is related.
Here's my list:

* teeth grinding
* TMJ
* major pins and needles (limbs falling asleep all over the place)!
* arthritis
* tendonitis- (i believe)- in right shoulder and both wrists.
*ankle pain-feels like a sprain most of the time
* back pain- mainly syatic nerve
* depression, severe mood swings and mild paranoia (which my doc tells me are not known signs of PCOS)
*really dry, flakey, itchy skin.
*sore, cracked heels- my feet could be classified as weapons!
*mild to moderate insomnia
*alergic to penacilin (all my life)
*seasonal alergies as well as some food alergies (developed in adolescence)
*very sensitive eyes
*asmatic bronchitis religiously twice a year but i use my blue puffer a few times a week.
*constant headaches

... of course pretty much everything that already comes with PCOS.
I know there's more but i dont want to have the longest list so i'll quit here!

My biggest problem right now is trying to find a doctor who gives a &%#* and won't label me a hyprocondriac!!!

Other than that, I feel great! //smile
