I have IBS (can't hardly eat anything without running to restroom), carpal tunnel, tmj (grinding teeth at night), anxiety, stress, unable to get to sleep, back and neck pain, headaches, numbing in arms and hands, aches and pains in joints, acid reflux (heartburn), possible ulcer, etc. etc. I swear people think I am a hypochondriac too, but it is amazing how many women are having the same things happen with them and we all have pcos (and all the great symptoms that come along with that).

Default My Symptoms

Hey everyone, I guess I have the normal symptoms...morbidly obese, hairy chin, side burns, hairy breasts, hair on fingers and toes, mustache, horrible mood swings, I cry a lot too, I get a period about every 5 months, very bad bloating and horrible cramps, I'm very gassy, I'm not sure if anyone elese experiences this but I'm always tired. When I do get my period its very heavy. I have acne on my body, but not too much on my face. When I get a zit its usually only one or two but never more than that at one time.

I have all the classic PCOS symptoms, but thankfully nothing else yet (my doctor made a joke once that if I didn't have pcos I would be totally healthy...my luck lol) :
  • obesity
  • hair..just about everywhere it shouldnt be LOL
  • skin tags...3 so far but havent come back yet
  • dark patches of skin..underarms, neck, and thighs
  • Infertility..antiovulatory and amenorrhea
  • Insulin Resistance
Also have a rash on my feet that I know is from PCOS even tho the doctor says otherwise. The reason I say this is my cousin who also has PCOS has it too. It's like brownish freckles.

My long hair was starting to get thinner, but my mom (she's an RN) told me to take some biotin and see if it worked...it did wonders for me. Made my hair even thicker than before and my nails grow like weeds. I was so happy about that!! Wish I could find a cure for everything else that easy.

Very interesting thread. I think I may have PCOS (weight gain, facial hair, acne, skin tags, itchy flay scalp, heavy and painful periods) but not diagnosed yet. I am very interested to read about the possible link to autoimmune diseases as I have multiple sclerosis, diagnosed since 2001, still in it's early, mild stages but my main symptom is fatigue but this has improved since self injecting Beta Interferon for the last year. Without wishing to scare anyone, some of the posts I've been reading are from people experiencing 'classic' MS symptoms.

I've been suffering from pretty much uncontrollable diarrhea for the last year or so (on and off) which could be IBS but possibly a lovely, but fairly uncommon, MS symptom known as bowel incontinence. I've also suffered from acid reflux since I was 21 and I'm on permanent medication for this

I posted here once before and since then I was informed of lots of other things I have. So here I go again:

PCOS (this time I have a real diagnosis!)
high cholesterol
high triglycerides
not quite IR, but almost
lactose sensitive
TMJ
had my gallbladder removed
think I have asthma
had iritis (worth throwing in since it's pretty uncommon)

really, I am too young for all this...oh yeah, and I'm nearsighted too

Possible MS-started in 2001, started as optic neuritis, no attacks since then, mild case if I do have it

Hypothyroid 1998- my mom and both of her sisters have it too

Off and on depression-I've been taking Lexapro for about 2 years and it's really helped

ADD-not officially dx but I have a lot of the symptoms - my dr. let me try Stratera and it really made a difference, I just couldn't take the side effects

Other than PCOS I have IBS and am lactose intolerant. In the past I've needed prescriptions for anxiety to get me through college classes--I would get too anxious to speak in public.
