I am new to this board - I have one major question that I just need answering about PCOS. I was diagnosed 4 years ago at 16. I am 5'9 in height and weigh 175lbs, so although I am overweight. I have am not obese (although have been.) Anyway this is just a bit of background, my main point is that I have a real problem with sweating I mean I can literally be sitting on the sofa doing not a thing and will have sweat patches. I need to know if this is just Marie or if its associated with PCOS. I have never seen it listed as a symptom but I was wondering if anyone else had this and how you have treated it....
Thank-you in advance for any advice you can pass on to me...
i sweat a lot. my main problem being my back and groin. hair traps smells...so removing hair is good. also i see you live in the UK, look in Boots for a roll on called 'perspirex', you put it on at night, wash it off in the morning, 2 times a week and it actively stops sweating. hope this helps. mand x

There have been a few recent posts about excessive sweating, Marie, you definitely are not alone! Try doing a search and perhaps they will come up. I have had this problem for years, whether overweight or not. I think perhaps as well there is a genetic component, as my mother and grandmother were exactly the same.
Cold flannels, fans, cool drinks, loose, cotton clothing, you've probably tried them all by now!
Welcome to soulcysters.
Gosh you guys are fast at answering - I was like expecting one response in about a week!! Thank-you especially sweet17. I will try that deodorant from boots. I have been into a few chemists and asked if they have such a thing - and just recieved blank looks!!! silly people!
There have been quite a few threads on this lately. I definitely have that problem. I have learned that sometimes an insulin spike will get me. I have a Drysol prescription which seems to be a lot like the item mentioned above.
Sweetme - you are amazing!!!!
Perspirex has almost changed my life - for starters - I can now wear light coloured tops and its the greatest thing ever! - wow!!
I have always had trouble with excess sweating under my arms. I had this when I was thin and I have this now. It really sucks to have to buy clothes according to how well they will hide sweat rings. You can just forget the silk baby! The first time I can really remember the problem was my 8th grade year. I started my period in 7th grade and was on birth control pills by the time I reached 8th grade. I continued to have this problem after I was off bcp, so it's not just a pill issue for me, but I have not found a solution yet. My latest attempt was using Certain Dry, which used to be prescription, but is now over the counter. It didn't help me. Degree seems to work the best for me, but doesn't stop it alltogether.
