Question Sweating

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has had the side effect or symptom of sweating a lot. I started Metformin about a month ago, am now up to 1000mg and this has just started within the past week or so. I'm not exactly sure it's the Metformin so that's why I didn't post this on that board.

It's almost like I'm having hot flashes. I'm only 33.

Thanks for any help.

I sweat a lot too. When everyone else is cold, I'm usually comfortable. DH has gotten used to wearing warmer clothes if it's too cold in the house for him because he knows I'll complain the entire time I'm hot. I can't stand the summer simply because of the heat. It's weird, because my normal body temperature is a degree below normal, so you would think I would be cold all the time.

I'm not taking Met, so I know that's not what is causing my sweating. Sometimes I think I'm having hot flashes too and I'm only 26.

I have been on 500mg of Met since August, and it hasn't changed the sweating at all. However I also have Cushing's, and sweating can be caused by this, so I am not a really good person to comment. Good luck~

My mum (who we suspect also has PCOS but has had a hysterectomy now) has really bad sweating since before menopause.

I am always really hot, although I live in a hot climate and am obese so that might contribute to it too. Women in my family are all good sweaters.

Oh Nelly, I have hyperhydrosis something AWFUL!
I don't know what it's related to as I'm not on meds and I have had this since I was at least 16, even when I weighed under 120 lbs I still sweat like a roast pig.
It is also extremely embarrasing, I am actually waiting for approval from my extended medical to recieve treatment for it (botox in the pitty pits).
I wear deoderant and anti-persperant and I don't stink too much but within 15 minutes of getting dressed I have wet spots.
Between some of these less flattering issues no wonder I'm flying solo.
Anyways, even though they are probably all for different reasons if you have ext med you may qualify for treatment (which only addresses the appearance, not the actual cause).

Sweating is one of the symptoms that I developed years ago when I gained weight and began showing symptoms of PCOS. It got so bad I made a doctors visit just for the sweating. It was especially embarrassing when I was at work and wore shirts and blouses and you could see the sweat stains if I lifted my arms. I read there are special antiperspirants that the doctor can prescribe to control this but I never asked my doc to do that. I find I sweat less when I use Arrid Xtra Dry (highest antiperspirant OTC), wear loose tops and try to relax during stressful situations. Sometimes I apply the Arrid multiple times in one day though. I think the sweating is related to the hormones being out of wack or possibly in my case stress and being over weight. I just started Met a week ago so for me I know that is not the cause.
