If anyone has problems with the BO type smell, I find using a crystal deodorant (the kind you get at the healthfood store) works really well.

I didnt have this problem as much when I weighed 330 pounds as I do now that Im 173. But I do get sweaty down there. Also SInce Ive lost so much weight I have excess skin and a skin fold I guess youd call it where my pubic hair starts. I get very sweaty and irritated there. I may have to try the crystal deodorant thing. Though after I have kids I hope to get my insurance to cover a tummy tuck since I have a lot of skin irritations where my skin is loose and has folds.

Ooooh that sounds like a good idea. I was actually just at Trader Joe's this morning and I have to go back because I forgot to get cheese. Maybe I will pick some of that up.

I definately feel like this is the sort of thing to adress with the right cleaning product as opposed to a deodorant. I feel like I wouldn't know where to begin applying deodorant. I can't exactly figure out WHERE the smell is coming from. But I know it is better if I am using certain soap products vs. others. Like Dial anti-bacterial deodorant body wash makes it better, Kiss My Face shower gell smells AWESOME but I can't use it in the summer, it doesn't keep the stink at bay.

As for being overweight & this SMELL... FWIW I am actually a thinner cyster (135-140 @ 5'4) and I have this problem. I suspect it is more related to androgens than weight... you know how like once you hit puberty you start to get stinky pits but you don't when you're a kid? I don't recall just what makes the stink... it's some interaction between something in the sweat and some bacteria on the skin, I think... but maybe our high androgen levels do something to our sweat... but maybe if you are overweight and have the excess skin or excess skin folds, then you have the extra bacteria for the sweat to feed...

I dunno. All I know is it can get pretty foul down there on a hot summer day...

besides the silky underware dusting powder, I don't wash down there with soap, I use soap free vagisil wash.

I don't use soap at all, just warm water. I also, on hot days, wear gold bond in my undies and under my breasts. It keeps me dry and not smelly.

Ok, I'm a freak when it comes to being clean down under. I shave of course and then I use Johnson & Johnson's Lavendar Baby Shampoo and I then use the lavendar baby powder as well. Keeps "her" very dry and clean. But I know everyone is different and I too have more discharge since I gave birth to an 11 pound child.......... The floodgates are open so to speak!!!!

k im not a cyster but my doctors keep thinking i might have PCOS but I can relate here. What I found that has worked really well for me. 1. shower with the iodine scrub from amplestuff. 2. put on deoderant "down there" and 3. I put this powder in my underwear. Its called Quinsana Plus and it comes in something that looks like babypowder. This usually helps me alot!
Hope this helps!
