Post Swelling of the face at start of menstration

Hi There, Has anyone ever had this I am cd 2 today and when i woke my face was so swollen i couldnt see out of my eyes. Not sure if it is connected to Af or PCOS or just something else. I have been thirsty all day could it be kidney/liver? any help would be great carol

You've been thirsty and your face is swollen? You might actually be dehydrated and be retaining water. I know my hands and face swell up if I'm not drinking enough water. If I incrase my water intake, the swelling goes away. That's just me,though..you might want to double check with your doctor.

Have you been checked for a thyroid problem? Thyroid problems can cause swelling of the face like that. It can get quite bad. Menstrual cycles bring the rise and fall of progesterone and estrogen, both which effect the absorption of thyroid hormones in the body. Estrogen binds to thyroid hormone making it unavailable to the body. So if you are low on thyroid, then when your estrogen is high it will make you even lower.
