I have only been on Levoyxl for 2 months and coming up on my third month so I switched to name brand, since I seem to always do better on name brand. Mind you I was doing really well on the generic, all my fatigue was gone and my energy came back.

I am on my 2nd week of new pills, name brand. I switched thinking it wouldn't be a big deal. OMG!! Now my fatigue is back and I feel like the rug was pulled out from under me...........Did I screw up by switching?

The Dr said to come in and she would talk to me about it, I am afraid she is going to take me off of it because she is treating me for sub clinical thyroid.

Any info is greatly appreciated! Thank you

I have always heard to stay on whatever you start on. i guess that only applies if it is doing well. mostly because if you start on brand esp. synthroid and go to generic its not the same dose and breakdown. usually dr's will start you on brand name, but if you were doing well on generic, i would go back. do whatever works. i adjust my dosage of synthroid everyday, alternating, and based on how i felt the day before. just make sure with generic you are getting the same manufacturer everytime. if she tries to take you off, ask can you go back to generic for a month to see how it goes.

I have also heard (especially with thyroid meds) STAY ON WHAT YOU STARTED.. So this could be a problem. I am not sure if it as big of a deal switching from generic to brand, but i have always heard once you start on brand you shouldnt ever switch o generic.. Hope this helps sorry i dont know the exact reason why that is just what i have been told
