Default Switched from Met to Met ER...

Hello ladies! My doc switched me from Met to met ER because the side effects were too much for me. Has anyone been on the ER version? If so, how did you do? I am scared to start taking it because I was VERY sick on Met. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Love and blessings!
Peony

Peony, you sound exactly like me!! I tried 4 seperate times over the course of a year to take the regular formula met and every time it made me so sick I was missing work and afraid to leave the house! I wouldn't have tried it so many times if we weren't ttc and if I had known sooner about met er!

My doc sent me to a nutritionist and she was the one who started asking about me taking met. As I told her how sick I had been while taking the regular formula met, I was actually in tears because I was so concerned about taking it again. She suggested that I try the met er, and I've been on it for about 5 mos now.

I don't know that I can say "I love it" although I know there are a lot of women who do love met. BUT I can say it very very rarely makes me sick! I have been sick from it a few times, but that usually lasted 2-3 days and was right after I 1-missed a dose or 2-increased my dosage. (When I started the met er I started on 500mg a day and just last night made it to my full dosage of 2000mg). I also find it far more conveinent to take it once a day, right when I go to bed, than it was to take it 3 times a day.

Honestly, if I were you, I would seriously consider it. (I made some dietary changes when I started it and I'm sure that has something to do with it, but I do think the met er helped me to lose the 15 lbs I lost in the couple months right after I started taking it.)

I had serious issues with the regular vesion. I started on the XR version and it is convient. I just take all 3 pills and I am good to go for the day. Good luck
