switching from Diane35 to Yasmin after laser

Hello everyone,

I had successful laser hair removal and I reached a normal BMI. I have been taking Diane35 for two years now and I am very happy right now with controlling my PCOS symptoms.

However, I am aware of the potential dangers of Diane35 and I would like to start taking Yasmin instead. My question is: would new hair start to appear? I know Yasmin is not nearly as strong as Diane35 in controlling PCOS symptoms.

I would like to hear your thoughts about this.

Personally, I would be afraid to go from Diane 35 to Yasmin. I was on Diane 35 for 8 years with no probs (went off for TTC). Diane 35 is an anti-androgen, whereas Yasmin isn't, right? I don't know. I don't have any issues with Diane 35. Good luck! What does your doc think about this?

Thank you so much for your response. My doctor said it should be OK, but for some reason I find it hard to believe. I decided to continue with the Diane35. I would be mortified if the symptoms return - I really worked hard to keep everything in check - so I am on Diane35 again.

Hi you have really nothing to worry about. I went through the same thing. I got laser hair treatment while on diane 35 for a year. I ended up switching due to an insane increase in appetite and weight gain. I then switched to yasmin and things stayed the same no acne and no more hair. overall i felt much better on yasmin!!!!! Yasmin is probably better since it has a lower dosage of hormones as well. diane really packs up an unecessary amount.
