well, it really depends ive noticed most people with depression feel alone
if your sad all the time
your prolly depressed lol
i was..well still kind of am but im so doped up that i cant tell lol
i know that PCOS made my depression worse bc of dealing with the symptoms
so they upped my meds and im okay now
if you think your depressed go to a phsychiatrist (idk how to spell that)
theyll tell u whats up and put u on meds if need be

There is a strong link of depression in PCOS sufferers along with anxiety and panic attacks .. its probably all closely linked to the self-esteem issues.

The symptons of depressino that I have are : -

Tearful
Anxious
Life holds no joy
tired
irritable
Moody
a feelign like there is a dark hole in my body (yes sounds weird but cant explain it better)
tearfulness and crying onwaking up
Waking up in teh night and thinking horrid thoughts
suicidal thoughts
palpitations

and this is just mine everyone else has their own version

There are many websites dedicated to depression that I would suggest you do a search. They will help you determine the symptoms, and assist you in knowing if it is time for you to seek the help of a doctor.

Depression manifests itself differently in all people, with some things being similar, though not the same.

Those of us who suffer depression will describe the feelings differently also.

Some of my symptoms include:
exhaustion
lack of energy
lack of ambition
short temper
uncontrollable emotional swings
bitter anger
heart palpitations
a sense of dread
fear and panic
an empty feeling

the list could go on and on...I have been dealing with this since childhood. My mother is bipolar, and honestly I feel the chances are high that I am too, but that is not the diagnosis my psychiatrist gave me. I need to revisit that topic with him.

Another thing, the deeper my feeling of depression, the less prone I am to seek my doctor's help, and I notice that is common of others.
