Default Symptoms slowing getting worse with BCP?

Has anyone ever noticed that after taking BCPs for a while their symptoms ended up worsening over time? I've been taking yasmin for the last 4.5-5 years now with few problems and although I can't say it ever helped my symptoms too much, nothing ever got worse until recently. Within the last year, I've started breaking out more, experiencing hair loss and got more excess hair, which I thought was just kinda weird because it seemed to come out of no where. I went to an endocrinologist who just prescribed spiro to take with the BCPs, but I'm really leaning towards wanting to get off the pill. I've had quite a few other health problems this last year that I feel like could be caused by the pill. So I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced something like this happening to them?

Yes I certainly have found that after 6 months to a year on Desogen/Marvelon, I started getting bad symptoms (like untreated PCOS!). After much debating with my gynae, I was told that if this was to happen, it would be wise to take a break for a month or so and then start it again. Also, skipping the break and taking 2-3 packs at a time followed by the break has helped me in the past on Yasmin - in fact I prefer to do this as it seems to minimise any undesireable effects. There is medical proof too that doing this is helpful for these problems.

It would possibly be worth having a temporary break and then trying again. Or of course switching pills for a while and then going back to Yasmin.

Hope this helps! xx
