Default take dong quai every day????

I just bought a supplement that is a multi-herbal formula that was highly recommended on a link from someone else's post.

I have a question...from most of what I read about herbs...is that dong quai and possibly licorice root ..are taken at different times in the cycle.

This supplement contains all of the above and lots more...but the directions say to take everyday. How safe is that if my ultimate goal is to use herbs to induce a period and ovulation???? I want to try to conceive with the aid of herbs.

The average dong quai in a dose is 100mg
The averages of the other herbs are about 70mg
This is to be taken twice a day...everyday....

Any help would be great...

This is just my opinion but I feel that at those amounts it will be fine to take throughout the cycle. The concern with Licorice is for high blood pressure so if you have any family history (or personal history) of that you want to be careful. I take 1000-1500mg per day of dong quai from ovulation to AF so 200mg per day is quite a bit less than that.
Best of luck with it.

I totally agree w/ Sherry on the Dong Quai and the Licorace.
Dong Quai is a good herb for regulation and you do want to discontinue it's use upon pregnancy.
Licorace is majorly contraindicated for HBP and other medical concerns so I'd definately weigh it's use against the real potential dangers.
Good Luck,
Kate
