Exclamation Taking the pill

My doctor put me on the pill to try and get my periods to come once a month rather than one every two months, but now I get my period every three weeks and my body is working against the pill, any ideas why or suggestions? I ahven't skipped a tablet so I don't know why. I am going to see a doctor today

Default same problem

Can you please put in here how you went at the doctors because i have had the same problem since i went back on the pill one year ago. I saw the doctor after a couple of months and they said it was just my body re-adjusting to the pill but it is still happening now.

hi cassandra
I am guessing that you are seeing a gyneacologist for your pcos. Might i sugest an appointment with a endicrinologist in your area. Your periods irregularity is a symptom of pcos, not the cause of it. BCPs may help regulate your period but they do nothing to treat the reason you have the prob which is indulin. Most endos are far more knowlegeable about pcos than gyneacoligist.

hope this helps

Default Re: same problem

OK I went to my local GP and he told me that the tablets I was on were very heavy and had too many hormones, so he changed them for some with a lower dosage rate. Too many hormones can send your body haywire and cause your period to be all over the place. I live in Australia and it is pathetic how little most doctore and so called experts know about these things - it took me 8 years to be correctly diagnosed rather than be told every year that it was because I was a teen and that my period would settle down!
