Hi gals, anyone go tanning?? I just started to go and i think the tan is making my wrinkles ( what few I do have ) show up more and drying out my skin pretty bad.
anyone ever have that exp. while tanning?
also, what tanning lotion do you use, I am using dark and lovely and I think its working good!!! as far as moisturising i slathered up with cold cream and let it sit for a while thne wiped it off, seems ok.
any oppinions would be appreciated.

I worked at a tanning store for a while and then became the manager. It does dry out your skin terribly if you arent using the right stuff and exfolitaing. We had the best lines of products and i tried each and every one of them.
For lotion to use after tanning I LOVE Supre skin systems moisturizer the brown kind. It has the best smell and I always use it tanning or not. It has a tiny amount of self tanner and will give you a tad bit of a bronze look. I get everyone hooked. Supre Hempz is always really good too. Without using one of these after tanning my tan would be awful and not last 1/2 as long.
As far as actual tanning lotions that you use before jumping in the bed IMHO you have to get something good either from the tanning shop or cheaper on ebay or whatever but the cheap no name brand stuff just doesnt work well. In our high end salon we MADE people use lotion before the tan. Some people didnt want to or wanted to use some cheap crap and in that case would let them test our good brand to see the difference. We charged a ton for it but you can get it on ebay for cheap. To start with a basic tan I would recc. Designer Skin Drama Queen or Designer Skin Bipolar which I love bc it has a cold effect like a breeze to it. Deisnger Worship is really good too and smells so very good. There are tons of very good ones out there. Anyhow after you want more of a tan after working there and tanning daily I did a tingle which there are different tingle factors which make you really really warm and red after so I wouldnt do one and then plan to go to a dinner party. They are only recc for the most exp. tanners but you get the best tan ever if you can stand it. Some people thought it was really painful but for me just very hot. We had radios and fans and all kinds of stuff in the bed so I was alright and after it kinda itches and burns so you can use a cool down spray which helps. Also there is a kind with bronzer that is awesome for dark tans which is Smoke Black Bronzer. You have to be really careful applying it or you will streak but its amazing. For the tingle if you want it after you get to that stage the best and most advanced is Outlaw Red Hot. Tanning was so addicting and I loved not paying the $100 plus a month to tan once I started working there and got free tans. I moved and now am back and am temped to start tanning again but it was addicting and my husband thought I got too dark. Anyhow hope that helps some. I love all the different lotions!

Oh yea and exfolitate or you will never get a good even tan. Do you tan nude and how often? I first burned my tush when I did it so I had to gradually get there. I found tanning so relaxing with the music and cool breeze and fans I never wanted to get out! So the night before exfoliate really well go there get naked slather on the tanning lotion tan dry off use your tanning moist. lotion get dressed and dont shower for a few hours!

I love Designer Skin Drama Queen - It has the BEST scent ever. I get it at my salon for $35 a bottle. I can't tan without it! : ) It also makes my skin super soft all day, and the scent does last all day too.
(Although I haven't been tanning since Septmber...lol....I only go in the summer months)

You think you have a few wrinkles now at age 32? You keep tanning, you are going to be horrified at what you skin looks likes in 15 years. Cut it out and put on some sunscreen!
(You said all opinions welcome.)

Babe, I'm 46 and I don't have a line on my face. And I know a lot of ladies who don't either. It doesn't have to happen this soon. As far as I'm concerned, it still matters how I look, and I have spectacular skin. You can look really hot at 32 with a tan, or you can look hot at 32 without a tan. But it's hard to look hot at 46 if your skin looks like 56.
And it's about more than looking good. It's about avoiding cancer. Use the tanning beds wisely if you choose to, and when you're outside in the sun, put on a sunscreen then, so you are protected from sunshine, which is way more likely to give you a burn. But both the sun and the beds have UVA which messes up the structure of your skin and can increase your risk of skin cancers dramatically.
And if you are committed to the tan, then please promise me you won't smoke too, which combined with years of tanning, can make you look like bad turkey jerky by the time your 40s roll around.
And moisturizers are a great thing for all of us. Lots of great, and luxurious ones out there!
