I don't know if i am in the right thread or not I am still kinda new at this...I previously posted as a newbie here. I went to the docs yesterday to get my test results back, I was being tested for cushing's and had a thyroid ultrasound, (plus i am ttc #1) well the good news is i don't have cushing's which I could have told the doc I have been previously tested for, but here is where I am very scared while doing the ultra sound (they did they us due to swollen thyroid goiter) they found a nodule that is just under 1cm and now I have to get an fna biopsy and am I starting to get real bad anxiety over this, I know what the odds are but I read somewhere that the chances are greater if you only have one nodule which i have anyone out there have similar experience? He also said something about hypothyroidism, and has sent me for a whole mess of bloodwork... but he also has decided against using medication to treat the high choles and ir due to me ttc.
If he is thinking about using Metformin (glucophage) for IR, then it would be a GOOD idea for him to do it while you are TTC, not wait. Metformin helps with regulating hormones as well and many women with PCOS concieve on it. My doc then had me stay on it until the end of the first trimester, when he said that the placenta had the hormones to sustain the pregnancy and I didn't need the metformin anymore (it can be bad for full term, but I have seen a lot of ladies on the board go all the way with it too).
I think that the "Symptoms of PCOS - Do you have this problem" board could be a good one for you to try asking around in. And the TTC board.

Thanks I will give it a shot. this condition has sooo many different presentations. I can't believe how complex it is. I will definitely mention the metaformin again. I was on it a couple years ago to get AF but it didn't work and it made me very sick, but the endocronologist I was seeing at the time was not willing to listen to me when I told her the pills she had me on weren't working and making me ill. It is just so hard to find a good doc now a days.
