I got my test results and my doctor says I pretty much don't have PCOS. I don't understand, I have all the symptoms, but I don't have the disorder? Than what is causing all my problems? Here are my results, please tell me what you think.
TSH: .80
FSH: <1.0
LH: 6.2
TESTOSTERONE, TOTAL: 127, 132 (got two test results)
SEXHORMONE BINDING GLOBULIN: 38.4
I know that you guys are not doctors, but I think you guys know more about this disorder than mine. So what do you guys think?

Your Testosterone is too high. I don't like mine above 25, my symptoms increase above that. I don't have insulin resistance, my PCOS problem is elevated testosterone, which is being treated with anti-androgens. I have some links to share with you. The first one shows test results for PCOS:

Your LH:FSH ratio is way out there, which is indicative of pcos. In premenopausal women the ratio should be close to 1:1, but no higher than 3:1, anything higher indicates pcos.

I'm constantly amazed at the GYNs out there that just don't seem to know anything about PCOS.

Get a second opinion NOW! You can have your chart transfered. Your LH:FH ratio is way off, and your testosterone is sky-high.

Allison,
What are your symptoms related to the high testosterone? So far that has been my only "off" hormone. And how has the antiandrogens helped?
My cycles are longer, I develop acne, gain weight, and the hair loss increases when my testosterone goes up.
I now take Flutamide in addition to Metformin and Spironolatone. It works differently than Spiro, something about DHT(?)
It has stopped my hair loss and improved all my other PCOS symptoms.
I have never been insulin resistant, but the Metformin helped me a lot before adding the anti androgens. I think if I had been diagnosed and treated sooner I may have only needed metformin.
HTH
