im m/c my 3rd but spotting has stopped waiting for bloodwork next week to see if hcg is at zero. (nothing heavy yet.) Weird the other 2 m/c were heavy and I thought i was dying.
Anyways im in between seeing a gyno which is following the m/c and i will be going back to RE for tests. I kind of want a D&C but the gyno wants that to be the last resort. (because at least they could test the tissue)
I was talking to my mom about some of the test the RE will do and broke down in tears when talking about the chromosone genetic test they will do. IT JUST HIT ME!!! if it's that then it will be the end of this ttc because there is nothing to be done about that right?
I know Im in good hands both the RE and gyno are close and have got a testing plan for me.
Im nervous because when I first went to RE he did a work up for tests to see why I m/c before he recommended iui. He couldn't pinpoint anything to say "GREAT WE FOUND IT AND WE FIXED IT" then I get pg with metformin alone and a part of me wants them to find something treatable and rule out the genetic issues. but it keeps going through my mind what if I can't have kids how am I going to handle it.
I will probably be going through testing as early as the end of this month or Nov. I believe. Anyone else in the same boat??

HUgs to you. I can understand the fear about getting testing done. I just had my 2nd loss and am waiting for the genetic testing and to get the recurrent pregnancy bloodwork done as well. Part of me wants to find out a cause, but another part of me is scared to death to find out the results. I dont know what will be worse- to find out there is a problem- what if we cant fix it..or what if they cant find anything. THen what? Try this again and live in fear of another mc. Neither option is very appealing.
I wish you peace and healing- I know this is a difficult time.
((hugs)) to both of you!!
I completely understand I just had my 2nd m/c within 2months of each other. I pushed for testing, I felt that all this should show something right?? i just wanted a documented reason for my losses. Of course everything so far is normal. I haven't heard about all the blood work but I am assuming it is fine because they are letting me start prep for my next FET. Oh and the kicker my RE said: with each m/c I have, the chances of another one goes up consideraly... GREAT THANK YOU for the added stress....
I wish they do all these tests BEFORE you start all of this, I mean there is aa lot of pre testing to start TTC but not any of the test done for genetics and clotting factors. It's a shame we have suffer even 1 loss never mind the three most clinic require you to have before they will test you.
I am so scared to get PG again as much as I want a child. It scares me to death to think about what my RE said...

I am in a similar situation. I am awaiting my second miscarriage after my numbers dropped yesterday. They are now going to test for blood clotting disorders and do genetic testing. I agree - why wasnt this done sooner. This is my third loss - my first was an ectopic. Why do we have to suffer through this before they will test for these things. I said the same thing to my husband last night - I am scared to death for the test results - what if they cant find anything? Then what just keep going through this? So stressfull -sorry to hear what you are going through as well.

thank you so much for the replys. Well I guess what I've been waiting on has started today. I guess my hormone is real low now. I feel real dizzy and cry at a drop of a hat. Im trying to stay hydrated and make it through this.
Well I hope we can keep each other up and up on the testing and results I know it helps me to talk and vent. Me I am scared to find out something thats not fixable. this is so crazy because I thought I went through all major testing to determine reason for miscarriage so this is new to me. One test off hand I remember is going to be for a blood clotting disorder where aspirin and heperin would be needed during pregnancy.
My testing I guess will start when this is stopped? or do you have to wait for another AF? what are doctors telling you?

I am all for keeping this post going to give each other testing support. I spoke to my RE today....the lab confirmed that the tissue sample was fetal tissue...so now we wait for the results....in the meantime I have to wait for my HCG to go to 0. Last Friday it was down to 1000, down from 40,000 the day before my D and C. Hopefully another week or so and we will be at 0. NEver thought I would be happy to see HCG go down.
I have the lab slip for the recurrent pregnancy loss bloodwork that I will get done once my HCG is 0. They are testing for clotting and autoimmine disorders. My RE said that even if they come back normal, I could opt to go on Lovenox if I get PG again....as a precaution since it cant hurt and may help.
Physically I am still not all better...still bleeding a bit, today I felt like I had the chills so I am hoping that isnt anything. I am still taking antibiotics because of the threat of uterine infection after the D and C.
I hope you are all healing and feeling better. Lets stay in touch!

wen0213- i started my testing after my bleeding stopped. i was tested for all things genetic as well as the clotting factors. My Dh was also tested for chromosomal issues.
mom- That is good that your re is giving you the option to use lovenox, sorry you are not feeling physically better, I was miserable for 12 days I bled heavily.
Amanda- i wish they would test us all in the beginning, sorry for your loss.
AFM I got the results of all the b/w and guess what they are ALL NORMAL!! I know I should feel relieved but I was hoping for an answer. Now ireally have a fear of the unknown.

I'm calling either next week or the week after and setting up lab work to check for MTHFR...don't think they are checking anything else.
Question, though....aren't men at risk for carrying something like or MTHFR itself? Should DH get tested if mine are 'normal'?
I wish you all the best...and the unknown, Pebbles, is way scary!! IMO.

pepples - Im so sorry to hear what your going through. I just had my bloodwork taken today. Sorry to be nosy but im curious. Is there any other tests they can do for you? Did they check both for clotting disorders and genetic disorders? Did they offer you a next step? Sorry for all the questions but Im am scared of what my results will be next week and these are all questions I had. Good luck - I'll be thinking of you!

amanda- what testing did you have done today? There a number of test and I believe the base it on timing of pregnancy loss. Like mine are all early never see heartbeat. Im in store for more testing but nurse said it is less than what they put me through to before starting first iui.
Dee67- I do agree your husband should be checked if you are ruled out. Just to cover everything. My doctor has said me first and then he will have a few test for dh. what is MTHFR?
Pebbles- positive vibes I have been told by several doctors that after 2 m/c the majority will go on to have healthy pregnancies and carry to term. So keep your head up. Its just when you have 3 or more you are really high risk.
MOM2APRINCE - I hope you get to feeling better very very soon.
That's a good thing and hopefully the tissue test will give you answers. Thats the hardest thing about this not knowing why? I wanted/begged for a D&C because this is my third and I have never had on. Dr. said know it can pass nautral. Keep us posted.
me- well Im still terrified and have so many thoughts going through my head. I feel like if they tell me its not chromosone problem then maybe I can breathe a little- or maybe not. I go next weds. for the hcg test to make sure it is 0.
Aslo if anyone is (-) blood type did you have the Rh shot?? If not your body can produce antibodies against baby.
Take care! I really will be praying for everyone and I know it will help me to be able to come on here and talk when results are back. Or waiting on them. I think I might ask the dr. to give me the list of test I've had done and reading on the test to come.

wendy - im sorry for what your going through right now. This site has been wonderful for me b/c i see stories that are exactly what I am going through. The tests I had today were all bloodwork looking for clotting disorders and genetic testing for myself and my husband. They said I will get the results back in a week. It seems that the best case would be the blood clotting disorder which would be treated w/ what you said earlier - a blood thinner and an aspirin a day. Im hoping for the best for all of us. I have never seen a heartbeat either. My first was an ectopic at 7 weeks and the last 2 were mis. at 5 weeks. Its still hard for us though. I am hoping you get your results back and get news that is treatable. I think for both of us we just want SOME NEWS. The unknown is scary. Good luck - I hope your feeling better tonight.

Wendy....MTHFR is a blood clotting disorder. I've read up on it, lots and seems that it could be a culprit...we'll see.
I am A- blood type and DH is A+ ...I got a Rhogam shot but not til I m/c'd....I'd asked for it 2 weeks previous, along with asking for a P4 and was denied both.
