Default testosterone cream

I am fairly new to PCOS and have just started on metformin. Well I am doing a little better on it but I noticed the last few days that my hair was shedding more again. Well They checked my thyroid on my meds and it was fine and then the nurse decided to but me on testosterone cream. Well I was very hesitent and feel like that might be wrong. Has anyone been put on that cream? Its supposted to help grow hair, but a side effect is facial hair!! I dont need anymore!! So any advice would be great.

Personally, I wouldn't test testerone cream with a 10 foot pole. Part of the problem with PCOS is an imbalance of hormones. I wouldn't add more hormones to the mix!

What I do is use a hair care system called Nioxin. There are several different products in the line. It's made for people with thinning hair. You can google it. It's pretty gentle and really works. My hair looks thicker, fuller and doesn't fall out as much with it. I'd also be super gentle with hair dryers, etc. Don't pull on your hair a lot.

Others try drugs for hair loss as well. You might want to do a search on the hair loss board. Good luck!
