hello all
i suspected pcos as I have suffered from acne for years, abnormal hair growth, and irregular periods. had blood work done at endo-- only abnormal level is increased dhea- which is 1 point above range. doc said he does not suspected pcos......
can increased dheas cause all my symptoms? should i get a second opinion?
will be ttc soon.

Hi,
I have the same problem.high dheas and normal T.at least it was like this before I went on bcps for 3 months.
I too suffer from severe acne and some excess hair but my periods were usually regular
my last endo was sure I have pcos but never officially dx me.maybe because she saw my normal test results after coming off diane 35.
my new endo thinks I may have some kind of adrenal problem.I'm going for another test in 2 days.
you should get a second oponion but to be honest there is not much we can do.anti androgens and bcp are the only meds I suppose.
