Default testostrone levels

I was just wondering what everyones testerone levels are, my Dr. ran a blood test and my levels were almost 120, he said normal can be up to 80 with 50 being considered high. He then had me go in yesterday to run some other tests to see if I have an adrenal disorder ( cushings). He said it may be severe PCOS but he wants to be sure. Can anyone shed some light.

Default testosterone

HI , Im from ireland , so I dont know if it is reasonable to compare results as they may vary from different countries, but I have been working on my testerone levels , at the start they were at 80, which is considered high, my therapist wants them down to around 30 to be acceptable. but it is working and Im doing it naturally as well.

Hi, I just had some bloodwork done, and my total testosterone came back as 58. My dr said that women with pcos should try to stay under 50 and that non-pcos women should be under 30. Then she switched me from Met ER to Actos because my total testosterone used to be 28 before starting Met.

By-the-way, Dolphin, what are you taking to naturally lower your levels?

Default Hello

When rediagnosed almost 4 years ago I was a raging hormone. Although, I didn't feel I had Cushings disease my endo tested all the hormones to verify this. At the time, my testosterone was 112. I knew it was high due to incredible excess hair....backs of my arms, my "bum" (sorry tmi), my tummy, it was awful! A good endo though will run all those tests and you can appreciate yours for helping you through this. That was biggest complaint with the high testosterone was the hair issues. Also, with Cushings your face is often "moon" shaped and it is common to have a hump on the back of your neck. (I didn't have that either). Your testosterone is incredibly high (sorry you are going through this...) and I hope your doctor helps you find the correct diagnosis. My testosterone now varies in my birth control pill cycle but stays between 50 and right before I start a cycle to often less than 20....The hair sure is better that is FOR SURE!

God Bless!

Candace

Just wondering what you mean by a 'moon' shaped face.

Thanks,

Default testosterone levels

Hi bekah

I hope you get to read this post , I am following a relatively healthy diet , but most importantly I dont eat processed food or unhealthy snacks, sweets , biscuits , cakes etc, any food which dosent have sugar added in or artificial sweeteners as sugar affects the adrenal glands which in turn affect the amount of androgen hormones produced from the adrenals and from the ovaries . the adrenals and the ovaries are connected closely in the relation to androgen secretion, and it is too much of these androgens in the blood which causes too much free floating testosterone in the blood , and it is from the blood circulation in the scalp which causes hair to fall out and other hair to grow where it shouldnt. so the first crucial step is to cut out sugar as much as possible and stimulants as the adrenal glands will produce too much of the wrong stuff.
Secondly, as Im not always good and absolutly adore Green and Blacks organic cocoa chocolate........! I try to compensate by also taking a 30mg zinc tablet and a herb called Saw Palmetto, which is great for hair loss. Hemp oil or Udos oil, or linseed oil is a must and vit. c for the immune system. I should also mention about Deglycherrishised Licorice also excellent for the adrenal glands and sugar cravings.I could go on but the list is endless , I also take homeopathics tested and tailored for my system . But finally I at last feel soooooo much better and still losing weight and not so mush of my hair anymore, SUGAR is a big problem in todays diet.

Thanks Dolphin! I have heard other people mention saw palmetto as well. I think as I just started a new cycle today, that I will try to pick some up tomorrow and give it a try.
