good news--I just saw a new RE and I am very happy with her. She didn't even weigh me or take my blood pressure. I really liked how her attitude was "Let's get down to the bottom of this and see what's really happening." She was able to do a transvaginal ultrasound on me right in her office and knew what she was looking for, rather than my last RE who wrote me a prescription for a pelvic ultrasound and the ultrasound tech didn't really understand why I was there. Based on the transvaginal ultrasound my new RE did, she saw that my uterine lining was unusually thin, so that's why my periods were coming twice a month, so she is having me get a hysteroscopy next week and then putting me on Estrogen pills to thicken the lining and reduce the bleeding. I'm really happy that she didn't just shoo me away and put me right on some sort of medicine--my 1st gyno put me right on the Pill and expected that to go well, but it didn't, then my 2nd RE put me on Provera to bring on my periods even though she didn't understand that the problem was that they were coming TOO OFTEN rather than not at all.
Also, the last RE I saw was very high strung about me being on Spironolactone without a form of BCP because she was afraid I'd get pregnant (even though I'm not sexually active or dating anyone), have a baby with birth defects, and sue her for medical malpractice. The new RE I just saw didn't seem to have any problem with me being on Spiro, and it is working very well for me, so I'm happy about that. So now I'm thankful for my current RE.
