As I posted earlier I cannot reply to posts, but can start new threads so I apologize to have to begin a new one for each reply..thanks sarah for your post..I do not know what this could be..all I know is I wasn't hurting at all until a few days after taking the Met..I have had many back aches over the years don't get me wrong but this one is constant, there each day throughout the day and is worse somedays then others...I can only think it could be the Met becaue I take nothing else but that and it the pain began right after Met..I am crushed if it is the met because it was my one hope to lose weight and maybe for once in my life be normal..I never feel like a normal woman..I have no idea what she will do with my high insulin levels now that she said stop the met..again thanks for this support and all of you take care.

Editing this to add that I just did a search, and while I couldn't find back pain listed as a side effect for Met alone, Avandamet (which is a combination of Avandia and Met) has back pain listed as a side effect. I also found posts on other pcos message boards about this, so it must be a fairly common side effect. The manufacturer and the docs really need to be aware of this!
