I went to a walk in mental health clinic yesterday for some recommendations about my depression. They want me to go see a doctor about getting an anti-depressant and also go see them for counseling for support.
But, now I am willing, but I don't know how much it's going to cost. My husband's benefits says they will cover $300 a year for Psycologists, but I'm not sure just normal therapists fall in that catagory.
Anyone know?

if you call your local mental helth and ask to get a assement and councling it would be coverd by MSP. also if you get a referal to see a pyschistirst *sp?* its coverd by MSP.

I see a psychotherpist (sp??) and he's about $100 a session... My DH's benefits cover I think about $600 a year, can't remember...
My therapist says that seeing an actual psychiatrist would be minimum double what he charges, but they do have the authority to prescribe medications and go to court (for some clients that they see), my therapist is only aloud to talk...
Good luck...

thing is in canada if you get a referal to a psychiatrist from your GP your MSP will COVER IT! most people dont know that, and so they dont seek help becouse they think it will cost to much!
IF YOU GET A REFERAL there is almost a 99% chance that MSP will pay for what you need to get seen by. i have my RE appts paid 100% by MSP
