Default Are there any rules when switching BCPs?

I'm going to make a switch from Aviane to Yaz. During this switch, do you have to use back-up birth control for the first week? A month? Or is this only for you go on the pill for the very first time?

Also, would you start on a Sunday or when you first start your period?

Thanks so much in advance!!

I think you only really have to worry about it if you're taking BCPs the first time, ever. I personally would most likely get paranoid and use back-up anyway, but that's just me.

Sunday or first day of AF, I think it just depends on which comes first.

It stands for "Aunt Flow"...you know...

There's a sticky around here (probably in the newbie section) that has a list of all the weird abbreviations we use around here!
