Default Is there a natural alternative to Met or Glucophage?

I'd love to go the natural route if I could. Any suggestions?

You could try either Chromimum GTF or Chromium Picolinate. They help with the insulin.
Of course the best help with insulin is exercise. So make sure you are doing that too.

Garcinia, also known as CLA can also help with insulin problems.

Here are some articles I found on the web to help you understand how exercise helps with insulin:

Regular Exercise May Improve Insulin Sensitivity

www.medscape.com/viewarticle/464281+exercise+insulin&hl=en]Effective Exercise Modality to Reduce Insulin Resistance in Women With Type 2 Diabetes[/url]

I believe that there were some other articles posted on the Diet & Exericse thread on this topic.

When I saw a naturopath, she prescribed Garcinia Cambogia as Citrimax instead of Gluc. Garcinia Cambogia is an insulin sensitizer.

Lots of small meals and eat protein with each meal is the advice I got... plus the chromium as well.

Default alternative to met

The less body fat you have, the more insulin sensitive you are (easier said than done I know! ). But just the act of exercise (even without weight loss) makes you immediately more insulin sensitive.
Yes, chromium is good, and also magnesium & alpha lipoic acid. Herbs that help are gymnema, ginseng, & fenugreek. As a naturopath, I can prescribe a formula that contains all these (in Australia) so it might be worth asking a local naturopath if they have anything similar.
The importance of a low GI diet is also invaluable.

I would say the nearest herbal equivalent to met for your body would be chromium GTF

other things which are supposed to help are:

calcium
magnesium
vitamin D and
taurine (which you can get from sugar free red bull!)
